— A woman reported at 11:01 p.m. Tuesday that she was walking down the sidewalk in the 400 block of Newgarden Avenue when people at a house nearby were making inappropriate comments to her. Officers spoke to the person who was still outside and gave him a disorderly conduct warning.
— A caller at 8:51 p.m. Tuesday reported a hit/skip in the 2800 block of East State Street, saying he saw a vehicle rear-end another vehicle at East State and Cunningham. The witness was with the vehicle at state Route 14 and Beaver Creek Road. The driver told police she got lost and could not see very well when she struck the other vehicle. Officers documented the damage and contacted a family member to pick her up. The driver whose vehicle was struck had not contacted police for a report.
— Nathaniel Mango, 31, Whinnery Road, was taken into custody and charged with driving under suspension and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 7:54 p.m. Tuesday. Officers saw a vehicle leave a residence in the 500 block of East Perry Street that’s known for drug activity and a male driving who was known to be suspended. The male in the vehicle left at a high rate of speed and police stopped it. K-9 Simon alerted to a narcotic odor and contraband was recovered during a probable cause search.
— A caller at 6:04 p.m. Tuesday reported a black vehicle hit a street sign at North Lincoln and Sunset and left. The vehicle was not found.
— A resident on Hawley Avenue reported at 3:28 p.m. Tuesday that a large oak tree on a vacant property on Rose Avenue split in half Sunday, falling onto her property and causing damage to her yard and garage, also bringing down power and cable lines. She needed a police report.
— A female juvenile reported at 2:58 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of East Fourth Street that she was walking home from school when she was confronted by two people known to her, getting into a verbal altercation with them that turned physical. Officers made the school resource officer aware of the situation.
— Officers at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday checked the 1900 block of East State Street for a man sitting on the back steps of a business. The man was reportedly drinking and pounded on the doors demanding to be let inside. He was wearing a light blue shirt, had dark hair and a beard, but was not found.
— Police at 12:59 p.m. Tuesday spoke with a female who had questions about removing another female from her residence on North Lincoln Avenue. She said she’s been living there for a year and was told the eviction process.
— Police were called at 12:53 p.m. Tuesday to the 1200 block of South Ellsworth Avenue about a trailer being stolen. The person who rented the trailer said it was removed by troopers off of Interstate 71 and he did not know the wrecker company’s name. Officers tracked down the wrecker company and learned the suspect picked up the vehicles involved and said he was returning them. If they are not returned, they’ll be entered as stolen.
— Police responded with fire department medics and KLG for a student who had a medical issue at the high school off of East Sixth Street at 12:28 p.m. Tuesday. The student was taken to Akron Children’s Hospital by KLG.
— A woman in the 1400 block of East State Street reported at 10:47 a.m. Tuesday that a juvenile female walked away from the residence in the morning and had not been seen since. She was entered as missing in the law enforcement data base.
— A caller at 7:36 a.m. Tuesday reported a suspicious man riding a bike in the 1600 block of South Lincoln Avenue who appeared intoxicated. He was not found.
— Police were asked at 7:42 p.m. Monday to respond with the fire department medics and EMT ambulance in the 1000 block of Jennings Avenue to check the well-being of a woman who requested an ambulance. She was taken to the hospital.
— A suspicious person was reported at 7:40 p.m. Monday at the rear of Goodwill in the 2300 block of East State Street in the Salem Plaza. The person had been asked to leave, but wouldn’t. Officers were unable to find the person.
— Suspicious activity was reported at 7:36 p.m. Monday on East Fifth Street, but the vehicle in question was not found.
— An East Perry Street woman reported a possible protection order violation at 5:38 p.m. Monday. Police spoke to her and a male and the information will be sent to the prosecutor for review.
— A Southeast Boulevard resident in the 1700 block at 4:45 p.m. Monday reported a theft.
— A fraud complaint was filed at 3:48 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of West 10th Street.
— A woman on Westview Drive reported at 3:23 p.m. Monday that she’s been receiving multiple unwanted calls from various numbers throughout the day.
— Officers at 2:32 p.m. Monday assisted with traffic control on East Third Street after a natural gas line was accidentally broken by contractors in the 1000 block. The fire department responded and stood by.
— A caller at 1:31 p.m. Monday reported a reckless operator in the 1300 block of East State Street, almost causing several accidents, but was not found.
— A person to be removed was reported at 1:10 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of West Wilson Street. The caller said a female was at the residence starting a verbal altercation. She left before officers arrived.
— Police were called to check the well-being of a male at 12:22 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of Continental Drive. His doctor suggested he go to the emergency room for an unknown reason and he was refusing to go. A neighbor said he left in a vehicle and appeared ok.
— A Southeast Boulevard woman reported at 12:08 p.m. Monday that some personal items were either stolen or missing.
— Police responded at 10:01 a.m. Monday to the 400 block of Woodland Avenue for a theft report. A woman said her car was accidentally left unlocked and the keys to her car and her wallet were taken from the vehicle.
— A caller at 9:16 a.m. Monday reported a vacuum was found near the end of her property on Cedar Ridge Drive. The vacuum appeared to be dumped and placed on the side of the road to be picked up by the next garbage collector.
— A Maryland Avenue man reported a prowler at 11:29 p.m. Tuesday, saying he was inside his home and heard three or four thumps coming from outside. He didn’t see anyone and police didn’t find anyone.
— Police were called at 10:48 a.m. Tuesday to the 200 block of Plymouth Place for a male who posted a disturbing message on his social media page. Officers spoke with the male who was having a bad day and in need of help. Arrangements were made to get him to a VA hospital.
— A woman from the 1100 block of Prospect Street talked to police at 10:31 a.m. Tuesday about a domestic, saying her ex-boyfriend was harassing and threatening her. She was told to call police if he shows up at her apartment or place of work.
— An ongoing issue with a loose dog was reported at 5:49 p.m. Monday in the 900 block of Benton Road. The caller said the owner lived on North Ohio Boulevard. The dog was located back at its residence and the resident was warned about dog at large.
— Police were called at 12:16 p.m. Monday to the 200 block of Lake Avenue for a domestic. Officers were met in the driveway by a woman who appeared to be under the influence and was acting disorderly. A man who called police said she was out of control pushing him around and kicking doors. He said she was upset about the floors getting worked on and she was on midnight turn. He said she appeared under the influence and he could not talk with her. He didn’t want to pursue charges. Officers attempted to speak with the woman but a conversation wasn’t possible.
