Goshen Police District

– Jennifer Howard, 48, Warren, was cited for assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash on state Route 14 and Beaver Creek Road at 3:19 p.m. July 11 in which she was eastbound and failed to slow for traffic, striking the rear of a vehicle driven by Brandon N. Talbott, 26, Salem. No injuries were reported.

– Pavo Bojic, 29, Sharon Lynn Drive, Salem, was cited for OVI and marked lanes following a traffic stop on Goshen Road at 3:06 p.m. July 13.

– Scott Allen Dean, 37, Apple Street, Salem, was arrested on an active warrant out of Columbiana County at a Colonial Villa home at 7:15 a.m. July 14.

– Keyla Natalie Leonardo Lopez, 23, Philadelphia, was cited for failure to yield right of way and no driver’s license following a traffic stop at state routes 165 and 45 at noon July 16.

– Brian K. Mills Jr., 36, Leetonia, was cited for assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash on Green Beaver Road at state Route 14 at 1:08 p.m. July 23 in which he failed to stop for traffic, striking the rear of a vehicle driven by Jessica Renee Susany, 33, Youngstown. No injuries were reported.

– Jackqueline R. Garber, 34, Parma, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash in the 13000 block of West South Range Road at 4:41 p.m. July 24 in which she was eastbound and traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking a ditch then a utility pole. No injuries were reported.

– Taylor Ann Gump, 34, Jones Drive, Salem, was charged with OVI following a one-vehicle crash on Youngstown-Salem Road between West Calla and Knauf roads at 11:22 p.m. July 24 in which she claimed she swerved to miss an animal and struck a guardrail. She was treated on scene by Green Township EMS.

– Jonathan Adam White, 38, Lake Park Boulevard, Sebring, was arrested on two warrants out of New Jersey after an officer observed a vehicle with its hazard lights on at state Route 165 and Malmsberry Road at 4:17 a.m. July 25. The officer found the vehicle was out of gas.

Sheriff’s Office

— A woman on Eagleton Road reported at 11:48 a.m. Wednesday that she has an aide who takes care of her through the state of Ohio. She said the aide has borrowed money from both her and her daughter, $200 total, and borrowed a Roku television box, with neither the money nor the television box returned and the aide has since been terminated. The state is investigating, but she wanted a report on file.

Salem

— Police responded at 2:23 a.m. Friday to Sugartree Alley for dogs at large, but didn’t locate any.

— The Stark County Sheriff’s Office called at 1:40 a.m. Friday to advise Salem police about a stolen street sign located during a traffic stop. Arrangements will be made to return the sign to Salem. The incident is under investigation.

— A domestic was reported at 12:44 a.m. Friday in the 400 block of East Euclid Street where a woman said her live-in boyfriend burned her with a cigarette. Officers observed the burn mark next to her right eye. The suspect left before she reported the incident to police. Since they were separated, no arrest was made. Information will be sent to the prosecutor for review.

— An officer in the 900 block of Liberty Street at 12:27 a.m. Friday saw two male juveniles in the road speaking with an adult male and female on a curb lawn. Since it looked like an argument, the officer stopped and talked to the adults while the two juveniles went into a residence. The two were walking through a yard when the homeowner came outside and confronted them. The juveniles said they were upset over the homeowner’s dog attempting to bite them. They were told about the curfew.

— Officers saw a dog running at large on North Lincoln and East Second Street at 12:14 a.m. Friday, but were unable to catch it.

— An East Euclid Street woman at 11:07 p.m. Thursday wanted her live-in boyfriend removed after he took his clothing to another woman’s residence. Since he had taken up residency, she was told the eviction laws and her options.

— Police were contacted at 7 p.m. Thursday by the Iowa Department of Human Services regarding a dependent adult incident that occurred in the 2000 block of Monroe Street, with money taken from that victim by another Salem resident. The incident is under investigation.

— Police were called at 6:48 p.m. Thursday on East School Street for a report of two male juveniles hanging out in the parking lot and making contact with several vehicles pulling in and out of the parking lot. Nobody was found.

— A woman on Vine Avenue reported at 6:36 p.m. Thursday that she wanted another female criminally trespassed from her residence. The other female was located and served with the paperwork.

— A caller at 6:21 p.m. Thursday reported a man sitting in an alleyway at North Ellsworth and East Fifth Street possibly passed out, but no one was found.

— An officer at 5:57 p.m. Thursday spoke with a social worker employed by Akron Children’s Hospital regarding a sexual offense, which is under investigation with possible charges.

— A needle found laying in a parking lot in the 700 block of West State Street at 4:04 p.m. Thursday was gathered up and destroyed by police.

— Juveniles were reported riding bicycles in a gravel lot on Elm Avenue where the caller was concerned they could get hurt Thursday afternoon. Officers told the juveniles to stay away from the gravel area.

— Police were asked at 3:20 p.m. Thursday to check the well-being of a woman and her children in the 900 block of East State Street, but they weren’t found.

— Police and fire personnel responded for a line down on West Sixth Street at 2:05 p.m. Thursday. It was determined to be a cable line, and was cut and removed by firefighters.

— A man at 1:53 p.m. Thursday reported being threatened by another male at a business near South Lincoln and Pershing.

— A well-being check was requested at 12:15 p.m. Thursday at North Union and East Ninth Street. Officers were familiar with the man and gave him a ride home.

— An unattended bag was reported in a parking lot in the 2500 block of East State Street at 12:14 p.m. Thursday when a woman left a grocery bag filled with miscellaneous food and a box of Narcan. Officers found the bag and threw most of it out since it was perishable.

— A person to be removed was reported on Cherry Street at 10:39 a.m. Thursday. The man agreed to leave and said he would come back later for his things.

— A business owner in the 400 block of East State Street reported at 10:34 a.m. Thursday that the brick work in front of her business was destroyed at some point during the night.

— A residential alarm was reported at 9:59 a.m. Thursday on Jennings, but the building was secure.
