Sheriff’s office

— Deputies responded at 3:27 p.m. Saturday to the 33000 block of state Route 172 in Hanover Township for neighbor issues, discovering there was a misunderstanding. One neighbor had workers unloading cement block and they placed the block in front of the other neighbor’s garage. The workers were told to move the block to the grass.

— A welfare check was requested at 1:08 p.m. Saturday in the 30000 block of Georgetown Road in Butler Township. The 18-year-old male was ok.

— A man in the 48000 block of state Route 14 in Unity Township reported at 11:48 a.m. Saturday that a neighbor was harassing him. He was told to contact deputies when the incidents take place.

— A suspicious male was reported walking around in the area of Georgetown Road near the county line at 9:12 a.m. Saturday. Deputies made contact with the male who was given a ride to McDonald’s in Alliance.

— Deputies were dispatched at 1:48 a.m. Saturday to King Road in Butler Township where two people were having a disagreement over property. The woman was moving out and the man wasn’t letting her take some things. They were told it’s a civil matter and to call their attorneys.

— Deputies at 12:08 a.m. Saturday found several vehicles parked near the animal auction barn at the Rogers sale on state Route 154. One of the operators was there and said they were having a meeting and everything was ok.

— Deputies were called to the Columbiana County jail parking lot at 4:47 p.m. Friday for protesters. None were there when deputies arrived, but a short time later, deputies were called back for protestors returning to the parking lot. Before deputies got to the lot, the protestors had left.

— A woman in the 15000 block of state Route 45 in Madison Township reported an alleged protection order violation Friday afternoon by the man who may be the father of her child. His mother had texted her wanting to see the daughter, and he texted her brother asking for her new address and his sister texted her mother asking for the address. She was told it didn’t appear to be a violation since he did not contact her and there’s no proof he encouraged the others to make contact.

— Deputies responded at 11:34 a.m. Friday to the 44000 block of Columbiana Waterford Road in Fairfield Township for a possible domestic. A woman alleged her ex-husband grabbed her by the hair by the back of her head and slammed her head off the top of the door from inside her vehicle. Information will be referred to the prosecutor for charges due to a lack of evidence.

— A domestic was reported at 8:39 p.m. Thursday in the 2400 block of Woodsdale Road in Butler Township, with a caller saying a woman threw a male to the ground. He left before deputies arrived. Deputies spoke to all parties at the residence who said everything was ok.

— Deputies responded at 5:37 p.m. Thursday to the area of Crestview High School on Crestview Road for suspicious activity but didn’t find anything.

— A burglary in progress was reported at 1:41 p.m. Thursday at a property in the 24000 block of U.S. Route 30 in West Township where the homeowner said two males entered his home and then took off in a black Nissan with rusted rims heading towards Minerva. They were both wearing black hoodies with blue jeans.

— A property owner on Torma Road in Madison Township reported at 6:14 p.m. Wednesday that a man was riding a dirt bike on his property. He wouldn’t have had a problem if the person had contacted him first, but hunting season is going on and he wanted the person told not to return to the property. A deputy contacted the man who said he was out of state and it was probably his brother out riding. He said he would tell his brother to stay off the property.

— Deputies were called at 5:54 p.m. Tuesday to a property on East Main Street in Washingtonville for a neighbor complaint. A man said his next door neighbor blocked his door with items and he was concerned about getting out if there was an emergency. The items had been moved before deputies arrived, but the man had a photo of a bicycle parked in front of his door. Deputies were unable to contact the neighbor, but spoke to the landlords who said they were in the process of evicting him but couldn’t complete the process due to the courts being closed.

— Deputies were called at 9:30 p.m. May 4 about an alarm going off on Strader Road in Madison Township. The homeowner said everything was ok.

— A caller on Madison Drive in Madison Township reported ATVs on the road at 8:20 p.m. May 4, explaining the kids drive on the road to get to the woods where they ride. No ATVS were heard and the deputy said they should be trucking the ATVs to the location, not riding on the road.

— A man on state Route 154 in Middleton Township reported at 5:27 p.m. May 4 that another male drove in his yard and attempted to hit him with a pickup, leaving damage to the yard. He was contacted and told not to come back to the property.

— The mobile home park manager of the trailer park located off of Brookfield Street in Lisbon reported at 4:10 p.m. May 4 that tenants said a man on one of the lots has been urinating outside. When contacted, the man told deputies he missed the farm where he came from. He was told he’s in the city now and had to use the bathroom inside the trailer or he’ll be charged.

— Deputies were called to a residence on Mahoning Avenue at 3:48 p.m. May 2 for a shooting complaint. The caller said a stray round from a shooting range in the area struck his residence. Deputies checked the shooting range and found a 35-foot mound of dirt in front of the targets. The owner was told to keep an eye on his customers and make sure everyone is shooting safely.

East Liverpool

— A man driving a pickup with Pennsylvania plates received a warning after being stopped by police at 8:51 p.m. Wednesday on Elizabeth Street for going left of center and almost striking two vehicles headed the opposite direction. The driver said he was eating and not paying enough attention.

— The city safety/service director requested at 4:59 p.m. Wednesday that officers respond to Jackman Street where a woman was filling in potholes with gravel. Police found her standing in the back of a pickup tossing gravel into a pothole. She was told to stop and to contact the mayor’s office on properly getting the holes taken care of, but she said she’s been trying and got no response.

— A man reported at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday that his BMW 650 had been parked in a friend’s garage on McKinnon for the winter. When he went to take the car out of storage, he discovered someone broke in and vandalized the car, keying the paint all the way around, slashing the soft top in several places, breaking off both side mirrors, shattering the windshield and breaking both tail lights.

— Threats were reported at 3:02 p.m. Wednesday on Bank Street.

— A domestic was reported at 11:52 a.m. Wednesday on Wilbert Avenue. No other information was listed on the report.

— A man on Dakota Street reported at 10:25 a.m. Wednesday that a gun and cell phone were missing from his residence after a woman had been inside refusing to leave. She had shown up at 11 p.m. the night before, he told her to leave and a car picked her up. Then she was dropped off again and then another car came to pick her up and had issues, which he helped with, then after that car left, he found the woman inside his house. He went outside to lock up his vehicles and get the dog and after she left, he found the items missing.

— A man on St. Clair Avenue reported at 10:16 p.m. Wednesday that his daughter removed 17 of his oxycontin pills after locking him outside.

— A man on Alpha Street reported at 12:07 a.m. Wednesday that his 13-year-old son was missing. He left the home at 2 p.m. and had not come home.

— A woman on Chester Avenue reported at 9:48 p.m. Tuesday that her ex-girlfriend was outside her residence threatening her. Officers saw her vehicle and stopped her. She told police she just wanted to have a civil conversation with the woman about showing people explicit photos she had of her. Both were told to stay away from each other.

— Police were called at 1:19 p.m. Tuesday to the post office downtown on Dresden for an investigation. No other information was listed on the report.

— A woman on Michigan Avenue reported at 1:19 p.m. Tuesday that her grandson spit on her during an argument at her daughter’s home. Police learned he only spit toward her, which she conceded.

— A caller at 8:01 a.m. Tuesday asked police to check a building on Eutaw Street saying a neighbor may be cooking meth because there was a heavy odor of chemicals. An officer found the neighbor was lacquering furniture.

— A woman on Lincoln Avenue reported at 4:07 a.m. Tuesday that a neighbor was jumping on his roof threatening to shoot her through the walls. He also had a camera. Officers found no one.

New Waterford

— Police responded to the 200 block of Wood Street in East Palestine at 5:19 p.m. May 4 to assist East Palestine on a disturbance call. The parties were separated and the female left for the night.

— Officers responded at 12:13 a.m. May 4 to the 3200 block of Creek Road for loud music coming from a vehicle. The vehicle was found but police heard no music. The occupants were given a warning.

— A female resident in the 3300 block of Pinewood Drive reported at 3:25 p.m. May 2 that she had ordered an item online that had been delivered to the wrong address and the people at the residence said they did not accept the package. The incident is under investigation.

— Police responded at 5 a.m. May 2 to the area of the New Waterford water treatment plant on state Route 46 for a possible intoxicated male laying in the road. No one was found.

— A suspicious person/vehicle was reported at 11:37 a.m. May 1 in the 3200 block of Creek Road.

— Loud music was reported at 11:32 a.m. May 1 on East Main Street.

— A miniature pony was reported in the road on Hatcher on April 27, but was not found.

— A female in the 3300 block of Pinewood Drive reported at 6:49 p.m. April 27 that someone poured a beverage on her vehicle. She suspected an ex-boyfriend.

Salem

— A barking dog was reported at 12:31 a.m. Sunday at Southeast Boulevard and Fairview. The dog was located in a yard on a chain, was not hostile and didn’t appear neglected. Police were unable to contact the homeowner.

— During a traffic stop at 10:36 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of East State, K-9 Simon indicated to the odor of a narcotic, but none were found during a probable cause search of the vehicle. An unopened can of alcohol was located in the glove box, confiscated and disposed of since the driver was 19 years old. The driver received a warning for the moving violation.

— A well-being check was requested at 9:32 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of West Third Street where the caller said an elderly neighbor was outside and appeared very confused. Officers spoke with the female who was still highly confused and unsure of where she was. Officers spoke to the person with her power of attorney who agreed she needed taken to the hospital, which she was.

— A domestic was reported at 8:04 p.m. Saturday in the 2000 block of Monroe where a male and female who didn’t live together got into an argument that turned physical. Information was sent to the prosecutor due to conflicting stories.

— A woman who came to the police station at 7:01 p.m. Saturday said a man started yelling at her at Giant Eagle on East State. She said words were exchanged and she wanted a report on file.

— Police responded at 6:24 p.m. Saturday to the 300 block of Morgan Court for a gas line being struck. Fire department personnel inspected the leak and Columbia Gas was notified to respond.

— Loud music was reported at 6:14 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of West Pershing Street, but officers didn’t hear anything.

— Suspicious activity was reported at 3:32 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of North Lincoln Avenue. An apartment manager said she could smell marijuana. Officers didn’t observe any odors or activity.

— An audible alarm from a closed business was reported at 2:46 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of South Broadway. The exterior was secure.

— A possible dispute was reported at 7:39 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Vine Avenue where officers were told people were outside in a car arguing and one person was refusing to get out. The owner of the vehicle said the other person left and they were leaving too. Police were also called at 6:44 a.m. for a dispute in the same area, but the people involved had left.

— A railroad crossing gate was reported damaged at 6:24 a.m. Saturday on West Pershing Street. The gate was off the post and was moved off the road. Norfolk Southern was notified.

— A noise complaint was reported at 4:36 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of South Lincoln Avenue, but police were unable to make contact with anyone.

— An officer on patrol a 9:53 p.m. Friday in the 1200 block of East Sixth Street heard three gunshots near the area of North Lincoln Avenue, but couldn’t locate the source.

— A woman at 9:07 p.m. Friday reported someone contacted her with a wrong number and it sounded like a child crying. Officers called the number and a female answered who hung up when she learned it was the police. Officers attempted to call several more times, but no one would answer.

— A caller at 4:02 p.m. Friday reported a vehicle struck a pole in the 500 block of East State Street, but nothing was found.

— A woman on Newgarden Avenue reported at 3:58 p.m. Friday that several amounts of money were attempted to be taken out of her bank account, but the bank was able to stop the money transactions due to an unauthorized user. She needed a police report.

— A caller at 2:38 p.m. Friday said a man was sleeping in the hallway of the apartment building. Police discovered he needed medical attention. Fire department first responders arrived and he was taken to the hospital.

— A clerk at Smith Oil on East State Street reported at 11:11 a.m. Friday that someone driving a white van left without paying for $17 worth of gas. Police located the vehicle and the driver said he paid for his gas at the pump with a credit card. He returned to the business to rectify the problem.

— Police were called at 10:57 a.m. Friday to Gene’s Drive Thru on East State Street for a private property accident after a semi truck struck a sign in the parking lot. The driver called 911 to report the owner was causing a disturbance with him in the parking lot. The driver was trying to pull into the busy lot to make a delivery when the sign was struck and he and the owner had words. Damage to the sign was minor and no citation was issued.

— A caller in the 1300 block of South Lincoln at 10:09 a.m. Friday asked police to check the well-being of a neighbor who was placing all of her belongings outside. Officers said there was nothing illegal about that but it may be against the apartment community policy. The woman did not want to speak to officers who attempted to ask her to take the various pills and pill bottles she had outside back inside. She didn’t answer officers, who then placed the pills in an evidence bag and took them to the police department for safekeeping.

— A cell phone found in the 500 block of Prospect was picked up by police at 9:58 a.m. Friday and placed in lost and found. The phone was heavily damaged.

— Police responded at 9:36 a.m. Friday to the 100 block of West Pershing Street for a stalking report. A woman said she believed an unknown male was following her the past few days. She provided a description and vehicle information.

— An alarm was reported at 8:54 a.m. Friday in the 400 block of South Union, but the home was secure.

— A bicycle found in the 100 block of Park Avenue at 8:05 a.m. Friday was taken to the police station.

— Luis Xavier Salgado Pizarro, 31, of Youngstown, was cited for no license after his vehicle struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Cassandra Holland, of Carrollton, who was stopped for a red light on North Lincoln Avenue at East State Street at 6:14 a.m. Friday. Both vehicles sustained minor damage.

— A reckless vehicle was reported at 6:08 a.m. Friday on West State Street. The vehicle was found but officers did not witness any violations.
