County Sheriff

— A woman reported at 1:25 p.m. Monday she had an argument with someone on Facebook about politics and the impeachment of the president and the argument got out of hand.

Salineville

— Police received a letter Jan. 6 from the county sheriff’s office regarding Michael White, a registered sex offender living at 204 E. Main St. On further investigation it was found White was not living where he had registered but at another home across the street from a school, which is in violation of his sex offender registration. The information was forwarded to the sheriff’s office and the prosecutor’s office, as well as Job and Family Services due to children being in the home where White was actually living.

— Police responded to a John Street, Salineville, address at 5:49 p.m. Jan. 8 due to a civil dispute.

— Damien Matthew Cronin, 21, Jefferson Street, was stopped on West Lincoln and cited with driving under suspension at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday.

— A report of possible criminal trespassing was filed by a resident on Market Sunday morning.

— Someone reported telecommunications harassment Sunday.

— Police responded to possible shots fired in the area of 74 W. Main St. at 11:27 p.m. on Jan.10, but found no evidence of anything happening.

Columbiana

— Johnathon Weaver, 32, of East Palestine, was taken into custody on a sheriff’s office warrant at 12:12 p.m. Tuesday.

East Liverpool

— Two unnamed drivers were cited for speeding Tuesday morning on state Route 39 near the Jennings Randolph Bridge. One was clocked at 5:57 a.m. going 86 mph, and the other a half hour later going 85 mph. The area is a 50 mph zone.

— Police responded to a home at 1:27 a.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of Green Lane for a domestic. Zachariah Gordon was arrested for violating a protection order, and suspected marijuana and a white crystal-like substance discovered in his coat pocket were confiscated and sent for testing.

Liverpool Township

— Catharina J. Clarkson, 19, Main Street, Wellsville was cited at 12:33 p.m. Jan. 8 in the area of state Route 267 and Densmore on a charge of failure to yield after allegedly striking a vehicle driven by Mark A. Oiler while turning left.

Leetonia

— An officer responded to the area of Oak Street near the Leetonia K-12 campus at 1:01 a.m. Jan. 10 regarding a complaint of a vehicle with a loud exhaust, but was unable to find the vehicle.

— An officer responded to a Cherry Fork Avenue business at 7:02 a.m. Monday in reference to a suicidal female and spoke to the woman from Warren who said she was overwhelmed by issues with her children at home. She was provided the name of a Warren police officer for a resource and transported to the Salem hospital for evaluation.

— An officer responded to a Lisbon Street property at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday in reference to multiple individuals trespassing. The officer observed three individuals running through the woods and was able to stop them to speak with them. They said they were just hanging out and that a fourth individual had run away ahead of them. The officer found no new damage to the building and let the individuals go.

Perry Township

— Township police along with Salem city officers responded at 11:31 p.m. Tuesday to the 2000 block of Countryside Drive to serve a warrant on Eric Campolito, 21, for aggravated possession of drugs. He was taken into custody without incident.

— Police responded at 8:24 p.m. Tuesday to the 400 block of Springdale Street for a report of an unknown elderly man in a driveway. The caller said the man seemed confused. Police spoke with the man who said he made a wrong turn and was just trying to get back home.

— No citations were issued due to conflicting stories and no witnesses after two vehicles collided at the intersection of state Route 344 and Cunningham Road when a vehicle driven by Joe Gregory, 39, of Leetonia, turned left from Cunningham onto state Route 344 at the same time a vehicle driven by Charles Chambers, 77, of Hanoverton, was crossing the intersection heading north on Cunningham at 5:54 p.m. Tuesday. All parties claimed to have no injuries and refused medical treatment. Both vehicles were towed.

— Glenn Benner, 61, of East Palestine, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after the truck and trailer he was driving south on state Route 344 attempted to turn onto Cunningham Road and went into the path of a vehicle driven by Jack Madden, 78, of Leetonia, at 2:17 p.m. Tuesday. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene. No injuries were reported.

— Jo Hana Chase, 26, of Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after the eastbound vehicle she was driving on West State Street struck the rear of an eastbound vehicle driven by Marjorie Densmore, 71, of Alliance, who was stopped for traffic at 2:08 p.m. Tuesday in the 1400 block of West State Street. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Salem

— A possible domestic was reported at 1:55 a.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of West Pershing Street where an intoxicated male allegedly tossed items throughout the apartment and possibly struck another male. A female advised no violence occurred with her. The other male had already left. Both parties separated for the evening.

— While in the area of a closed business in the 2400 block of East State Street at 9:31 p.m. Tuesday, officers came across a male and female in a vehicle. They were told to leave.

— An accident hit/skip was reported at 9:10 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of East Fifth Street where there was damage to private property. Officers photographed the damage to a fence and remaining debris from a vehicle that potentially caused the damage. Information was gathered from the property owner.

— Police stood by at the hospital on East State Street at 6:46 p.m. Tuesday for a male wanted by Adult Parole. When he was discharged from the hospital, he was released to Adult Parole.

— A man in the 600 block of West State Street reported Tuesday that someone attempted to open a credit card using his name but was denied. He contacted the issuer of the credit card and was told to file a police report.

— A woman at the police station at 5:09 p.m. Tuesday reported an assault that happened to her juvenile son while in school. She said he was assaulted during school. The incident is under investigation by the department’s school resource officer.

— A clerk at Smith Oil on East State Street reported at 4:54 p.m. Tuesday that the driver of a maroon Jeep Liberty fled westbound after failing to pay $22.17 for fuel.

— A reckless vehicle was reported at 4:49 p.m. Tuesday in the 2800 block of East State Street. Police found the vehicle unoccupied and legally parked, seeing no violations.

— Police were called to the area of Taco Bell in the 1800 block of East State Street at 4:08 p.m. Tuesday to check on a possibly unsafe vehicle in the parking lot. The caller said while the car was being driven, it looked as if the left rear tire was going to fall off. Police looked at the vehicle and found it appeared to be ok. Officers made contact with the driver and said nothing was wrong. Officers watched the vehicle being driven and did not notice any malfunction.

— A 911 hangup call was reported at 3:04 p.m. Tuesday in the 1500 block of Quaker Lane, but everything was ok. The resident was unsure how 911 was dialed.

— Police responded at 10:52 a.m. Tuesday to the Smith Center, 500 E. Fourth St., where officers spoke with management about an issue with a visitor. A male was served with a trespass notice and advised not to return or he could be arrested.

— A Salem man reported Tuesday someone unknown to him opened up a Paypal account.

— A possible theft was reported at 10:14 a.m. Tuesday on Sunset Boulevard where a man said he has power of attorney for his father and noticed an unusual transaction on his father’s bank account. He needed a police report before the bank could investigate.

— Police, along with first responders and EMT ambulance all responded to the 1200 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 10:53 p.m. Tuesday for a medical. The man was taken to the hospital.
