Salem

— Officers responded to accidental alarm drops at 4:52 a.m. Dec. 20 in the 1400 block of Allen Road, 6:37 p.m. Dec. 21 in the 600 block of North Lincoln Avenue, 8:14 a.m. Dec. 21 in the 800 block of East State Street, 12:56 p.m. Dec. 21 in the 2200 blocik of East State Street and at 8:31 p.m. Dec. 21 at Cigarette World.

— No contact was able to made with a suspicious vehicle at 6:20 p.m. Dec. 21 in the area of State Street and Union Avenue.

— An investigation continues into an incident at 7:26 p.m. Dec. 21, where a subject allegedly entered a residence in the 800 block of Adams Avenue and repeatedly stabbed pillows and mattress before leaving.

— An intoxicated subject received a verbal warning at 9:16 a.m. Dec. 21 after allegedly yelling at juveniles in the area of the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue.

— Residents reported shortly before 1:30 a.m. Dec. 21 through 1:30 p.m. Dec. 22 that someone had egged their vehicles earlier in the area of North Ellsworth (2), East Seventh (1) and West Wilson (4).

— Medical personnel were called to the 1000 block of East State Street, where police were investigating a disturbed individual who appeared to be having hallucinations and harassing subjects on a sidewalk. The subject was transported to Salem hospital.

— An altercation occurred at 1:59 a.m. Dec. 22 in the 500 block of East Pershing Street.

— No charges were noted after police responded to the 500 block of East State Street, where Ernest Van Pelt, 50, of state Route 14 in Columbiana struck the side mirror of a truck owned by Rhonda L. Netolicky, Morris Avenue of Salem shortly before 12:27 p.m. Dec. 21.

— Suspicious person investigations were conducted at 12:49 p.m. Dec. 21 in the 900 block of East State Street, at 3:06 p.m. Dec. 21 in the 1900 block of East State Street.

–Subjects had left before police arrival, when officers responded to an alleged assault at 12:48 p.m. Dec. 21 in the 2800 block o East State Street.

— Officers responded at 3:12 p.m. Dec. 21 to the 800 block of South Lundy to a custody dispute.

— A subject reported at 3 a.m. Dec. 21 in the 200 block of Vine Street that a man known to her kicked in her door and took belongings from the residence.

— Police took a crash report regarding an incident at 6:33 p.m. Dec. 20 in the area of Ellsworth and Mullins, where a subject was attempting to let a tractor-trailer through and struck a telephone. There was no damage.

— A neighbor dispute was reported at 6:29 a.m. Dec. 20 in the 2000 block of Monroe Street.

–Phone harassment was reported at 12:25 p.m. Dec. 20 in the 600 block of East Sixth Street.

–Officers responded at 12:10 p.m. Dec. 20 to Walmart for a private property report.

— Isaac W. Llewellyn, of Youngstown, was arrested on a theft charge, after allegedly stealing more than $300 worth of merchandise from his employer Walmart.

— Judson T. Edling, of Cedar Ridge Drive in Salem, was cited for the red light violation at 8:17 a.m. Dec. 20, after a crash at the intersection of East State Street and Ohio Avenue.

Sheriff’S office

— A resident of the 42000 block of state Route 39 in Yellow Creek Township requested deputies at 4:10 p.m. Dec. 21, after a subject allegedly brandished a knife and demanded the keys to a shed over Christmas presents. He had wanted his wife’s family removed from the home, but they had left prior to deputies’ arrival.

— Unwanted subjects were reported at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 21 in the 13000 block of Bethesda Road. They have left before officers arrived.

— Deputies responded to domestic disputes at 6:11 p.m. Dec. 20 in the 3900 block of Harvey Avenue in Center Township and at 8:02 p.m. Dec. 21 in the 27000 block of Rainbow Lane Circle.

— Suspicious activity was reported at 4:18 p.m. Dec. 20 in the area of Speidel and McCann roads. Nothing was found.

Salineville

–Deer vs. vehicle crash reported at 6:02 p.m. Dec. 16 on state Route 30.

–Report of a possible infant choking at 12:40 p.m. Dec. 14 in the 100 block of Commerce Street.

— Police responded at 6 p.m. Dec. 13 to the 19000 block of Monroeville Heights for a domestic dispute.

–Two suspicious males were contacted at 7:52 p.m. Dec. 10 in the 300 block of Walnut Ridge Road.

— First responders transported a male who was feeling ill at 11:52 p.m. Dec. 11 to the East Liverpool City Hospital.

— Theft of a wooden gas fireplace was reported at 6:38 p.m. Dec. 9 from the first block of West Main Street.

–Thomas Michael Blair, no address provided, was arrested at 11:58 p.m. Dec. 7 on a disorderly conduct with persistence charge, after allegedly making inappropriate advances towards females visiting the American Legion. He allegedly had been asked to leave and refused.

— A female subject with an unknown illness was transported around 6:23 p.m Dec. 7 from the first block of John Street.

— Officers responded to a medical emergency at 2:33 p.m. Dec. 7 in the first block of Maple Hill.

— Police assisted with members of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office with a search for two subjects, after receiving information one of them may be lying in a ditch near Hazel Run and Haiti at 8:57 p.m. Dec. 4.

— About 30 minutes before, officers had conducted a welfare check on a suspicious vehicle near state Route 39 and Haiti. The seemingly unconscious driver pulled over to take a nap after returning from college classes.

— George Ollis, no address provided, was cited at 9:37 p.m. Dec. 2 on charges of driving under suspension, no operator’s license and speeding on state Route 164.

— Clark J. Best, no address provided, was served at 6:44 p.m. Dec. 2 with an active warrant out of Columbiana County, while walking down Main Street.

–Officers and first responders were sent to a McGavern Road address at 5:32 p.m. Dec. 3 to provide assist for an elderly woman who had fallen and possibly injured herself.
