County Sheriff

— A deputy investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle at 4:18 p.m. Oct. 4 in the 6000 block of Fairfield School Road.

Highway Patrol

— William E. Koenig, 83, of Dunn Road in East Liverpool was cited at 12:02 p.m. Oct. 4, after allegedly rear-ending a vehicle driven by Justin S. Hoover, 23, of Echo Dell Road.

— Kathryn D. Dotson, 40, of Canton was cited at 8:35 p.m. Sept. 30 on U.S. Route 30, after allegedly swerving to miss a deer and driving off the road.

— Bradley Minard, 48, of state Route 9 in Kensington was cited at 10:56 a.m. Sept. 30 on Rochester Road near state Route 172, after driving off the road and striking a ditch then an utility pole.


— Officers investigated two parking complaints at 7:17 p.m. Oct. 5 in the 400 block of Vine Avenue and at 10 a.m. in the 100 block of Brooklyn Avenue.

— Police, responding to the 300 block of West Tenth Street, checked on the well being of a female subject at 4:44 p.m. Oct. 5. A caller told them that she was being held against her will, which she denied; however, she confirmed that the male had taken both sets of vehicle keys and withheld her from accessing them.

— A Pershing Street resident reported at 4:14 p.m. Oct. 5 that she was being harassed over social media in regards to a pet.

— Police were asked to remove an unwanted subject at 4:08 p.m. Oct. 5 in the 800 block of East State Street.

— Officers responded to an alarm drop at 1:53 p.m. Oct. 5 in the 2000 block of East State Street, where a door had to be resecured.

— A complaint about a barking dog was received at 1:29 p.m. Oct. 5 in the 2200 block of Edgewood Drive.

— Police took a report about a hit-skip at 6:31 a.m. Oct. 5 in the 1900 block of East State Street, where a full-sized pickup truck hit a tree and then fled.

— Officers responded to a domestic disturbance at 3:52 a.m. Oct. 5 in the 900 block of Wilson Street, where there had been a verbal altercation outside. The involved persons were told to keep the noise down.

— Brandie Nicole Poynter, of LaGrange, Ky. was arrested at 2:21 a.m. Oct. 5 in the 600 block of East Sixth Street on a charge of violating a protection order.

— A Salem man allegedly was jumped and assaulted shortly before 10:49 p.m. Oct. 4 in the 700 block of East Fifth Street.

— A female subject reported at 12:14 p.m. Oct. 4 in the 200 block of West 16th Street that someone removed money from her bank account and overdrew it.

— A complainant reported at 12:13 p.m. Oct. 4 in the 500 block of Walnut Street that his relative borrowed a gun and failed to return it.

— License plates were reported stolen at 10:35 a.m. Oct. 4 off a vehicle in the 400 block of West Wilson Street and entered into LEADS.

— Two junk vehicles were towed at 9:37 a.m. Oct. 4 from the 300 block of North Ellsworth Avenue.

— Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Woodland Avenue at 2:07 a.m. Oct. 6 for a suspicious person, yelling in the roadway and yelling for help; however, the man had left before officers arrived.

— An intoxicated person was transported to Salem hospital shortly after police responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 4:10 a.m. Oct. 6.

East Liverpool

— Cynthia Lynn was arrested at 4 p.m. Oct. 4 in the 300 block of Moore Street, after police found her allegedly possessing marijuana following a request for a welfare check.

— The alleged overdose of two males at 3:28 a.m. Oct. 4 in a Harvey Avenue is being investigated by police. One subject was able to revived after the administering of Narcan, the second was not.

— An East Liverpool area woman reported the theft of $440, which was supposed to be used for the purchase of a car shortly after 6 p.m. Oct. 3 in the 300 block of West Sixth Avenue.
