— An alarm was reported in the 2900 block of East State Street at 5:37 a.m. Friday. The exterior of the business was secure and a keyholder responded to reset the alarm.
— An officer on patrol at 2:27 a.m. Friday checked the registration on a vehicle in the 700 block of West State Street and found the plates listed as stolen. The officer did a traffic stop and spoke with the driver/registered owner who said her plates had been stolen in the Cleveland area and the Bureau of Motor Vehicles re-issued the same plate number to her. The officer confirmed the plates were on the correct car. Dispatch did contact Cleveland Police for further information.
— Early Friday during a traffic stop in the 100 block of Jennings Avenue, an officer noticed a strong odor of burnt marijuana in the vehicle. A search was conducted, but no contraband was recovered. The driver received a verbal warning for driving without headlights lit.
— William Royal, 22, of West Middletown Road, was cited for minor misdemeanors of possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 11:05 p.m. Thursday on East State Street. An officer noticed a vehicle turning from North Lincoln onto East State with only one headlight and initiated the stop, with the driver pulling into Smith Oil. The officer smelled the odor of burnt marijuana and asked the driver about the smell. The driver said he smoked a roach of marijuana and handed it to the officer. A probable cause search yielded two THC pens, multiple THC cartridges and marijuana shake. A valid driver retrieved the vehicle.
— Police checked on a vehicle at the deadend of Bentley Drive at 8:51 p.m. Thursday, finding a male who said he just pulled over to eat his food. Nothing suspicious was suspected.
— Ann Sevenich, 60, of Metz Road, Columbiana, was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence, a red light violation and expired registration after a traffic stop at 7:53 p.m. Thursday in the 2500 block of East State Street. The vehicle had been reported earlier in the day as being driven recklessly with the hazards on and an officer observed the vehicle go through a red light with a flat front passenger tire. The citations were issued and the driver was released to a family member.
— Police responded at 5:11 p.m. Thursday to the area of Ohio Avenue and East Pershing Street for a parking complaint. A caller said several vehicles were parked in a no parking zone. The vehicles were located in a weekend and holiday parking zone. There was a church function going on and vehicles were not obstructing traffic on the roadway.
— Police were called at 1:30 p.m. Thursday to the 1500 block of Southeast Boulevard for an issue between a renter and property manager. Police told the male the issue about the rental agreement was a civil one and he could contact an attorney if he wanted.
— A woman in the 700 block of North Lincoln Avenue reported at 1:22 p.m. Thursday that two bicycles were stolen off of her front porch. She checked with her children and they did not have the bicycles.
— A caller requested a person removed from a home in the 200 block of East Fourth at 10:11 a.m. Thursday. The person had already left when police arrived.
— A woman on Cedar Ridge Drive reported at 9:48 a.m. Thursday that she was having problems with a neighbor.
— No citation was issued after an accident involving an ambulance and a pickup on East State Street near Howard Avenue at 7:51 a.m. Thursday when the driver side mirror of the ambulance struck the driver side mirror of the pickup. The pickup driver said he was in the left turning lane and the ambulance came left of the center lane. The ambulance driver said he was close to the center line but did not believe he went over the line. He also said the sun was bright in his eyes and he could not stop due to having another employee and a patient in the back. The ambulance wasn’t running with lights and sirens.
