County Sheriff

— An Oak Street, Knox Township, resident reported at 1:46 p.m. Friday someone used her Social Security number to try to change her bank’s direct deposit information to a different account.

— The mother of a 16-year-old girl reported at 6:23 p.m. Saturday her daughter ran away from the house in East Liverpool overnight and picked up by 19-year-old Michael E. Fletcher, state Route 14, East Palestine, on Friday night, who took her to a house on Union Ridge Road. On Saturday, she was riding with the man on Carmel-Achor Road when she heard the person on the other end of the phone tell Fletcher to take her to the police station. Fletcher pulled into the parking area at Lake Tomahawk to turn around and the 16-year-old ran from the truck. Fletcher said the last time he saw her she was running away southbound, talking on her phone. She would not answer her phone after she left the truck and several family members were out looking for her.

— Randy Benton II, North Shore Drive, Knox Township, reported someone took his 2005 Harley Davidson Sportster from his yard Saturday while he was at work. He checked with the landlord to make sure no one moved it while they were mowing the yard that day, but the landlord did not know anything about it.

— Deputies were sent to a home on Osbourne Road, Wellsville, where Brian Specht was reportedly unresponsive at 5:57 a.m. Saturday. West Point first responders arrived and Specht was given Narcan before he was transported to a hospital.

— Deputies responded to a Whitacre Road, Butler Township, home at 7:39 p.m. Friday to meet with Damascus EMS, which had been called for a deceased person.

— At 7:49 p.m. Saturday, Terry Johnson, Bower Road, West Township, asked deputies to check on his girlfriend’s soon to be ex-husband, who lives on Bower Road, West Township, and reportedly threatened to kill himself because his wife left him. Deputies spoke to the man, who was at a football game in Stark County and stated he was fined.

— Christina Newlin, McKee Road, Yellow Creek Township, reported at 11 p.m. Saturday there were people on ATVs on her property.

— Deputies were called to home on Elk Avenue, Lisbon, at 3:24 a.m. Sunday where a man cut himself in the chest with a knife. Brandon Grove was transported by KLG to St. Elizabeth’s in Youngstown.

— Amy Cooper, state Route 7, Elkrun Township, reported at 5:23 p.m. Sunday her ex-husband, William Cooper, got rid of her bird. Deputies told her to contact an attorney because it is a civil matter.

Highway Patrol

— Stephen F. Clary, 60, Quaker Lane, Salem, was westbound on U.S. 30 in Hanover Township at 6:06 a.m. Monday and hit a deer.

— Homer H. Swanson, 21, Route 30, Hanoverton, was northbound on state Route 9 in Butler Township at 3:15 a.m. Oct. 6 and went off the right side and overturned. He was cited for failure to control.

— Skylar Nicole Wiggers, 21, West Salem Street, Columbiana, was westbound on state Route 517 in Elkrun Township at 7:30 p.m. Sunday and hit a deer.

Lisbon

— Larry Lake, West Washington Street, reported Wednesday a tools were stolen from his tool box in the rear of his truck. He noticed the box had been pried open. He was last in it a week before.

— Thomas E. Entrikin, 67, McKinley Avenue, was cited for letting trash accumulate on his property: garbage, wire, autoparts, tires, etc. Entrikin was cited after being mailed a warning letter on Aug. 29, which gave him 15 days to clean up the property.

— Nicole Hilton, East Lincoln Way, reported Oct. 9 $1,200 was missing from her bank account and she could not read the signatures on the withdrawal slips. The bank was investigating but needed a report.

— A caller reported there were juveniles near McKinley Elementary at 2:18 a.m. Wednesday. An officer arrived along with a highway patrol trooper and they found two girls, who said they were just out walking, and they were not juveniles.

Columbiana

— Mitchell Durr, age and address not listed, was cited into county juvenile court for speeding and driving under suspension at 7:06 p.m. Sunday.

— A woman, name and address not listed, reported at 2:55 p.m. Sunday she was receiving unwanted messages on the Internet.

— Police warned Eric Francis of West Duquesne Street and a child with him for trespass at 5:16 p.m. Sunday after they were found riding ATVs on the Columbiana-Lisbon Road foundry property.

— A man reported anonymously at 8 p.m. Sunday he and his two passengers were driving out of the city on state Route 164 around 8 p.m. Saturday and they believed they saw the front seat passenger in the car in front of them wave a knife out of the window.

East Liverpool

— Tammy R. Wilson, Cadmus Street, reported a problem with a parent at the school bus stop at Bank and Avondale streets, telling officers her 8-year-old grandson is under a doctor’s care for emotional and behavioral issues. A woman became upset about Wilson’s grandson’s behavior toward her grandchildren and her, putting her finger in the child’s face and screaming obscenities at him, Wilson reported. The woman then threatened to assault Wilson if she failed to control her grandson, according to reports. Officers reported speaking to the other woman, telling her to stay away from Wilson and report any future problem to the police department and school administrators. Wilson wanted a report filed in case she decided to file charges.

— While on patrol, an officer reported seeing a vehicle turning north onto St. Clair Avenue from McKinnon Street with a child standing on the back seat, hanging out the window. A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver, Chad A. Barber, 43, Ravine Street, reportedly apologized for the child not being in a seat belt, telling the officer the child has ADHD and doesn’t listen to him. Barber was advised by the officer that his son needs to listen to him and wear a seat belt. Barber was cited for no child restraint.

— Brandon L. Lemmon, 19, Martins Ferry, was stopped at a red light on West Eighth with a vehicle driven by Charles O. Fitch, 45, Lowellville, behind him. Fitch’s foot slipped from the clutch, and his truck lurched ahead, bumping Lemmon’s vehicle. No citations were reported.

— Leana L. Rexroad, 33, Dresden Avenue, was westbound on Pennsylvania Avenue at Dewey Avenue when a vehicle towing a trailer in front of her stopped abruptly, causing Rexroad to stop in time not to strike the trailer. Wayne M. Woolley, 26, Pennsylvania Avenue, was behind Rexroad, and his vehicle struck hers. Woolley was cited with assured clear distance, while Rexroad was cited for no operator’s license.

St. Clair Township

— An officer was sitting stationary on St. Clair Avenue when he saw a northbound vehicle without headlights on and initiated a traffic stop. The officer reported being able to smell marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver, Austin J. Jodikinos, 20, Clinton, Pa., reportedly admitted having placed a baggy of marijuana on the passenger side floor when he saw the officer. Also reported being seen inside the open purse of passenger Alyssa K. Coleman, 18, Dickey Drive, Lisbon, was an LA Cakes container containing marijuana. Jodikinos was charged with possession of pot and given a warning for the headlight infraction. Coleman was charged with possession of pot.

New Waterford

— Mandy R. Bowyer, 29, East Main Street, New Waterford, was arrested at her home on an active warrant out of the county sheriff’s office at 10:36 a.m. Oct. 9.

— Officers responded to a 46000 block Route 46 business Oct. 9 in reference to a theft complaint involving an employee. The store owner requested the employee pay for the stolen items in lieu of filing criminal charges and the employee agreed. The employee was then fired.

— Officers responded to a 46000 block Route 46 business 9 in reference to a theft from the parking lot.

— Officers responded to a 46000 block Dogwood Circle home at 8:30 p.m. Oct. 10 in reference to a burglary report.

— Police responded to the 46000 block of Taylor Avenue at 9:11 p.m. Oct. 11 in reference to a suicidal male. Officers spoke with the man who said that he was having issues with his girlfriend. He was taken to St. Elizabeth’s.

— Officers at 6:35 p.m. Friday observed a dog running loose and followed it to a residence in the 46000 block of Crestview Road. The officers spoke with the owner.

— Police responded to the intersection of Crestview Road and South State at 11:42 a.m. Sunday in reference to a dog running loose. The officer returned the dog to its home.

— A conductor with Norfolk Southern reported at 1:11 p.m. Sunday finding metal debris on the track and requested a report be made on the matter.

Leetonia

— An officer responded to a Bears Den Road home at 6:25 p.m. Oct. 10 in reference to a 911 hang up call and found it to be a 5-year-old child. Everything was determined to be OK.

— An officer responded to a 100 block Chestnut Street home at 6 p.m. Oct. 11 where the resident reported noticing several items in the home and garage missing. She said she had noticed items out of place the past few weeks, but this was the first time she noticed items missing.

— An officer warned a Chestnut Street resident that she would be cited for barking dogs after a complaint was made at 8:29 a.m. Friday, which has been an ongoing issue.

— Shawn E. Naughton, 47, Lisbon Street, Leetonia, was cited for OVI and loud exhaust following a traffic stop on Columbia Street at Home Street at 3:34 p.m. Friday.

— An officer responded to a 200 block Walnut Street home Saturday where the resident reported receiving calls and texts from a man. The officer was unable to contact the man, but the resident reported the next day the calls stopped after the officer tried to contact him.

— At 10:10 p.m. Sunday a woman requested a patrolling officer in the area of Water and State streets for a ride to Canton or East Liverpool. The officer gave her a ride to the police station to call for a ride.

— A Walnut Street resident reported at 9:44 a.m. Monday finding a gas powered leaf blower on her property and turned it over to officers.
