Residents are welcome to participate in Salem Creative Arts Expo

SALEM — The Salem Area Chamber of Commerce Gallery of Art is inviting the community to participate in the annual Creative Arts Expo.

According to a press release, this year’s Creative Arts Expo will be held May 2 from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. and promises “a community wide celebration of local talent and immersive art experiences” which will transform the downtown area “into a living gallery featuring local artists, live music, and hands-on activities.

A display of 5-inch by 7-inch canvases painted by the community will continue to serve as “the heart of the expo” in the POW Building at 315 E. State St.

Residents of all ages are welcome to showcase their artistic visions and participate in the expo by using paint, mixed media, or their drawing skills to create their own masterpiece for the display. Free canvases are available for pickup at the Chamber Gallery, located inside the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce office at 210 E. State St., anytime during business hours Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. through 5 p.m.

Finished canvases must be returned to the chamber gallery by April 24 at 4 p.m. to be included in the display.
