WELLSVILLE — Mystery Theatre Unlimited continues its landmark 30th season of original musical-comedy murder mysteries with the return of a holiday favorite: “Slay Ride Six: Santa’s Last Christmas,” subtitled “Just Be-Claus.” Updated with a refreshed cast and new energy, the show brings cheer, music, mischief — and a touch of murder — at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 9 at The Rebekah in Wellsville. The venue is located upstairs of Slack’s Antique Mall,460 Main St.

In this spirited North Pole romp, Santa Claus — played by Sean Decker — stuns his workshop by announcing that he’s finally ready to retire… and will personally choose his successor. His longtime chief of staff, Elfish Prezley (Renee Storm), is convinced the job is hers. But she’s not the only contender.

Joining the holiday power struggle are Mother Nature (Melody Meadows), the Tooth Fairy (Dustin Heavilin), and the ever-hopeful Easter Bunny (Butch Maxwell). As the competition heats up, someone ends up taking the ultimate chill — and the audience is left to help figure out whodunit.

True to Mystery Theatre Unlimited’s style, the production mixes fast-paced comedy, musical parodies, audience interaction, and a playful mystery. Selected audience members will be invited to participate in small roles, and most venues pair the show with a meal.
