CCCTC to break ground on new transportation addition
LISBON — After years of planning the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center is breaking ground on a new transportation addition.
The career center governing board approved a contract for the work during the November regular meeting.
The project was awarded to Stitle Construction Co., Inc. for just over $6.52 million.
Career Center Superintendent Jeremy Corbisello said after the meeting that the project is an addition to the existing building and will be a larger space to house the auto tech and auto collision repair programs since the current spaces are undersized.
“We have been planning this project for a few years and are very excited for our students and staff to have a modern space to provide real world learning experiences,” he said.
Ground was broken on Dec. 1 for the project.
In other business, the board also approved several routine financial reports as well as the employment of Michael Hill as substitute certified/licensed personnel for the 2025-26 school year.
The board also gave temporary approval of several board policy revisions and additions.
The next meeting was set for 7 p.m. Dec. 16.
