West Branch FFA

West Branch FFA attends the 98th National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana. Students toured the EBY Trailers in West Jefferson, Ohio. They had a chance to tour the facility, see the production process, and learn how EBY combines modern technology and hands-on craftsmanship to support the ag industry and the careers involved. They also had a chance to tour the Total Seed Production in Tipton, Indiana, where students learned about the company’s full-service operations- from planting and pollination to processing and distribution, and the wide range of careers involved in the seed industry. Students also toured Purdue University’s College of Agriculture, where they learned about the campus and the majors offered. FFA members took a trip to the Rodeo for a fun evening. At the National Convention, our students attended general sessions and the Career and College Expo, exposing them to hundreds of agricultural businesses and colleges across the country. To end our trip, we had 3 of our recent graduates receive their American FFA Degree; Brody Martig, Savannah Ruthrauff, and McKenzie Whitted. This prestigious degree is earned by less than 1% of FFA members nationwide. This award recognizes years of dedication, leadership, and hard work in agriculture education and supervised agricultural experiences. Overall, students spent time learning hands-on about agricultural business, careers, colleges and the National FFA Organization through this experience. (Submitted photo)
