EAST PALESTINE — The East Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce is once again inviting runners and walkers to kick off Thanksgiving morning on the move with the 18th-annual 2025 East Palestine Turkey Trot 5K.

The family-friendly race will take place Thursday, Nov. 27, beginning at 9 a.m. at 31 Park Ave. Participants can enjoy a scenic course through town before heading home for their holiday celebrations.

Registration is $29 and includes a T-shirt, bib number, commemorative medal, and swag bag for those who sign up by Nov. 21. Packet pick-up will be available Sunday, Nov. 23, from 1 to 3 p.m. via drive-thru at the East Palestine Community Center, or on race morning from 8 to 8:45 a.m.

Organizers encourage early registration at bit.ly/EPTurkeyTrot2025 to guarantee race goodies and avoid race-morning lines and say the event is more than just a race — it’s a cherished local tradition that brings together neighbors, friends, and families to celebrate community and health.

“Whether you’re a competitive runner or just out to enjoy the morning air before the feast, everyone is welcome,” the Chamber said.

New to the race this year, the “best dressed” runner will win a free turkey, provided by the East Palestine Community Improvement Corporation (EPCIC). The EPCIC will also be handing out tokens for free turkey breasts along the race route.
