COLUMBIANA — The Delta Kappa Gamma Teacher Honorary members met in the Salchow Room at the Columbiana Public Library for their November meeting.
Nancy Dicken gave the invocation. Dinner was catered by Sweet Melissa’s.
President Barb Lipp conducted the business meeting. Both the treasurer’s report and minutes were accepted.
Tiffany Noling, one of three Crestview Elementary Title I Reading Teachers, provided the program. She uses a Phonemic Awareness Program with the younger students and was trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach which she finds very effective. It seeks to ensure long term retention and mastery through the science of reading: seeing, hearing and saying sounds.
Members are asked to bring Christmas cards to sign and deliver to local nursing homes at our December 13th meeting. It will be held at Someplace Else in Wellsville.
