Christmas Craft Show
The Salem Slovak Club, 313 S. Ellsworth Ave., will host its Christmas Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 29. For information call 330-337-8426.
Author Lindsay Clifton
Wellsville Carnegie Public Library will host local author Lindsay Clifton at 6 p.m. Nov. 13 for a reading and book signing of her “Middle Fingers of Love: The Granny Files.” Wellsville Schools music teacher, artist and author Clifton’s book looks at a granddaughter’s journey in caring for her grandmother with dementia. It captures the difficulty of being a caretaker for a loved one and adds in the humor of human experience. This is a Free Program Event. Copies of the books are $15 and will be on sale for purchase, cash only. Registration is required at 330-532-1526. Seating is limited and restricted to ages 19 and over.
EP Library book sale
The Friends of the East Palestine Memorial Public Library is holding their annual book sale on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. There will also be a special preview night on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. The cost of admission is $5 only for the Thursday preview night. Admission is free on Friday and Saturday. A “bag sale” is being offered for $5 (the Friends will provide the bag) and is featured each day. There are a wide variety of hardback and paperback books, DVDs, books on tape, puzzles, and games. This year there are also some specialty books (yearbooks, local history, local authors, and other books) which are not included in the bag sale and are individually priced. The book sale is located in the basement of the Library at 309 N. Market St., East Palestine.
Wellsville Schools Veterans Day
WELLSVILLE — Wellsville Local Schools will once again honor area service members with its annual Veterans Day event at the Wellsville Junior/Senior High School. The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 11, beginning at 9 a.m.
The program is being organized by Emilee Wilson, who has coordinated two guest speakers for this year’s event: Columbiana County Prosecutor Vito Abruzzino, U.S. Air Force J.A.G. Corps, and David Hull, Sergeant First Class (E7) with the Ohio National Guard.
Musical performances will be presented by several student groups, including the High School Choirs performing The Star-Spangled Banner, second-grade music students performing This Is My Country, and the fifth- and sixth-grade choir performing You’re a Grand Old Flag.
A brunch for veterans will follow the program, along with a benediction delivered by Pastor Mark Blakeley.
The event is open to the public, and all veterans and community members are encouraged to attend. Reservations can be made by calling the Wellsville Junior/Senior High School office at 330-532-1188.
