Southern Local High School aviation students recently visited the Salem Airpark to interview local pilots and learn about their airplanes. They heard from local flight instructors and airline pilots about how to pursue a career in aviation, saw a drone demonstration and learned how are used by law enforcement and emergency management services in Columbiana County. Several pilots also let them sit in their airplanes and see how the controls work.
