Personnel still at forefront of Leetonia BOE
LEETONIA — Personnel still was on the forefront of Leetonia school board business when members met Wednesday.
All members were present and voted for:
— One year limited certified teaching contracts to Chris Roth, Sharon Walters and Melanie Dolak. Walters’ and Dolak’s retire and possible rehire were the subject of a public hearing that preceded the board meeting. No objections were noted.
Members also approved supplemental contracts for Sophia Pulcini, band volunteer; Victoria Adams, high school student council advisor; and Melissa Brock and Jennifer Hartman, mentor teachers, for the upcoming school year.
Adams also was approved for an an unpaid leave from Sept. 15-24.
Danny Favazzo Jr. was signed to a three-year administrative contract as director of buildings and grounds as well as director of transportation.
The school board also accepted the resignations of teacher Tyler Cintron and Kaitlyn Culp Morris.
In other action, board members:
— Approved a $25 rate per hour for ICE bus drivers for summer 2025.
— Approved a step salary advancement request for Kayla Klacik.
— Approved student, staff and athletic handbooks for upcoming school years.
— Approved band director Randy Rodik to host a drum corps for practice Aug. 4 at various sites on the school grounds before they perform at the Canton Pro Football Hall of Fame Drum and Bugle Corps Show.
— Approved OME-RESA cooperation serves agreement for upcoming school year.
— Renewed the district’s Health Reimbursement Accounts program with American Benefits Group for Aug. 1, 2025 through July 31,2026.
— Accepted a bid for purchase of a nw 2027 school bus from Hill International Trucks with expected delivery within 18 months.
— Renewed membership to the Ohio Coalition for Equity and Adequacy of School Funding for upcoming school year.
