Yost suspends his governor bid

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost has suspended his campaign for Ohio governor. The 68-year-old Yost hinted at the challenge presented by his chief rival, Trump-backed biotech billionaire Vivek Ramaswamy, recently receiving the Ohio Republican Party’s endorsement. He said “a steep climb to the nomination for governor has become a vertical cliff.” Ramaswamy formerly co-chaired President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency initiative. His ties to the president have generated grassroots Republican enthusiasm around the state and helped him land the GOP’s backing last week. Ohio Lt. Gov. Jim Tressel, a popular former Ohio State Buckeyes football coach, may yet run.

Starting at $2.99/week.
