Wellsville man arrested after assaulting EL Dairy Queen employee
EAST LIVERPOOL — James Wicker, 61, Main Street, Wellsville, was arrested for assault following an attack on a Dairy Queen employee, Wednesday afternoon.
Police Chief John Lane said Wicker was upset over a food order and had words with the employees. Wicker than became angry and attacked a female employee.
The employee told officer Flisha Kelsey and Detective Jon Price that an older male came into the Dairy Queen Grill and Chill, 900 W. Eighth St., angry because his order was incorrect and began aggressively yelling at her, according to the police report. The employee said the male, who was unknown to officers at the time, went out of his way in an area customers are not allowed and punched her in the jaw. A witness told officers a male employee ran over to break up the fight and hit the male, later identified as Wicker, in the back of the head.
The witness told officers Wicker then left the restaurant, and she was unsure of which way he headed.
The officers were able to view video footage from the restaurant’s camera and began an investigation to locate Wicker.
Wicker was taken into custody following the investigation, charged with assault and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
