Garden of Eatin’ mural dedication set for June 14

COLUMBIANA — The Garden of Eatin’ mural dedication now has a date and time, according to an announcement made by city manager at Tuesday’s council meeting: Saturday, June 14, which is when the city is hosting its Chalk on Main event.

Officials and Columbiana High School creative entrepreneurship students will present the mural. The project’s subsequent phase will continue.

Council members amended their meeting schedule, moving their initial June meeting from 7 p.m. June 3, to an hour before the city’s regular meeting night for Planning Commission.

ÂMembers voted with emergency language to skip the June 3 meeting and instead meet at 6 p.m. June 10 due to a quorum issue. «The Planning Commission will then meet at 7 p.m.

After passing all its remaining legislation, which is detailed below, council members in executive session for personnel before re-entering their public meeting and adjourning.

Council unanimously approved:

–The full-time employment of police officer Cory Dewell.

–Approval of a July 12 tag day at local businesses from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the Little Clipper Football Association.

–Contracting with Lindy Paving of New Galilee, Pa. for the city’s 2025 street maintenance program.

–Both Community Revitalization Area agreements with A Plus Powder Coaters.

–Amended legislation outlining fees for city utilities, and waiving the water testing one if a resulting discrepancy exceeds 2 percent in usage.

–Passing the modified rates for the Columbiana Cemetery.
