Middleton Twp. Memorial Day

The Middleton Township Memorial Day Service will be held Monday at the Negley Memorial site, next to the township garage. The service is scheduled for between 8:45 and 9 a.m. The preacher attending will be Cindy Figley and the memorial service by the East Palestine American Legion Post.

Memorial Day Banquet

Friends of the Banquet will sponsor the Memorial day Banquet in Salem from 5 p.m. until the food is gone Monday at the Salem Memorial Building. The menu will include sloppy joe’s, potato salad, baked beans, applesauce, fresh vegetables and fruit, and cookies. Dine in will park in designated area and proceed to front door. Drive thru will line up behind the building; one meal per individuals in the vehicle. No parking in the Library lot. 2025 Veggies & More Tour

OSU Extension-Mahoning County invites all gardening enthusiasts, beginners, and community members to attend the 2025 Veggies & More Tour, a weekly summer garden series held every Monday at 6 p.m. throughout June, July, and August.

This series will feature visits to local gardens across the county, led by OSU Extension staff and Master Gardener Volunteers. Attendees will explore real-life growing spaces, learn best practices in vegetable gardening, and receive practical tips for managing common issues like weeds, disease, and insects. Bring garden questions–and even plant samples–for on-site diagnosis and advice.

Participants are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, a notepad, and their curiosity. Each session offers a chance to connect with fellow gardeners and gain hands-on knowledge in a relaxed outdoor setting.

Columbiana Craft BeerFest 2025

The Columbiana Craft BeerFest Committee is announcing the Columbiana Craft BeerFest 2025, set for Sept. 20, 2025, from 4-8 p.m., at Town Center, Firestone Farms, will benefit Columbiana Project Playground.

“We’re excited to announce that Columbiana Project Playground is back for another round as the beneficiary of Columbiana Craft BeerFest,” said committee member Mary Ann Green. “If you’re from this area, you have great memories tied to Harvey S. Firestone Recreational Park and we want to ensure that legacy continues for future generations. This year, that means ongoing support for the creation of a new, safe and inclusive playground for all.”

Columbiana Project Playground, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, is a local initiative committed to replacing the existing Funland children’s playground in Columbiana’s Harvey S. Firestone Recreational Park with a new, dynamic, fun, safe and fully accessible playground for all which will serve generations of children in the broader community and beyond.

Now in its fifth year, Columbiana Craft BeerFest 2025 will feature samples from more than 10 area breweries, live music, local food trucks and area vendors with proceeds benefiting Columbiana Project Playground.

Cost for Columbiana Craft BeerFest 2025 is $30 in advance, $40 at the gate and includes 10 tasting tickets, a 13-ounce master crafter tasting glass, access to live music, food trucks and vendors. Guests must be 21 years or older to enter.
