St. Clair PD seeks golf teams for benefit

ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP — The St. Clair Township Police Department is seeking 36 golf teams to compete in its Fore Cops and Kids Golf Outing to be held at Turkana Golf Course, 14678 state Route 170, East Liverpool, on May 17.

Registration starts at 7:45 a.m. and the event begins with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.

The outing will also feature prizes for first-, second- and third-place teams, with any ties broken based on hole handicap; door prizes, giveaways, raffle tickets for additional prizes and dinner catered by Giant Eagle.

Raffle prizes will mainly be golf-related items.

Prizes for the top three teams are $500 for first, $300 for second and $200 for third place.

The St. Clair Township Police Department Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) 210 is also seeking sponsorships and hole sponsors for the event.

Sponsorship for corporate is $500 for the team and includes name on sign, team only is $300 ($75 per golfer) and skins is $20 per team. Hole sponsorship is $200 and includes sign on tee box or near green and business name will be displayed at all FOP #210 events for the remainer of 2025.

The event will take place rain or shine. If there is a cancellation due to course rule, the dinner and raffle will still be held and green fees refunded.

Registration for the event is requested to be done at least one day prior to the event. The even is for 36 teams and registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The funds generated from the event enable the police department to continue doing what they do out in the community and help buy new equipment for the officers.

“This helps us with our Cops and Kids and helps us generate revenue to provide things to the community like we have done the last couple of years,” Police Chief Brian McKenzie said. “We have been pretty successful with that. This is pretty much the only fundraising revenue generating thing that we do all year.”

Registration can be done by picking up a registration form from the St. Clair Township Police Department or visiting the police department’s website and scanning the QR code. Payment can also be made by phone or through Venmo.
