School Notes
Gracie Dowling
The Wellsville Care and Share Community Club has chosen Gracie Dowling as the Student of the Month for April 2025.Gracie is the daughter of Sara Dowling and William Shilot.
Gracie has consistently demonstrated academic excellence having been on the honor roll for four years and recognized each year at the 3.75 Honors Banquet. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, serving as secretary.
Her involvement in extracurricular activities include being a dedicated member of the choir and show choir for two years each, Spirit Club for four years, and a four-year member of the Thespians. She has also served as president of the Student Council and participated in Yearbook, Science Club, Varsity W, Y-Teens, and Academic Challenge Team — each for two years.
Athletically, Gracie has made an impact as a four-year member of both the volleyball team and the winter cheerleading squad. She was honored with the Jon Stokes Award in 2023 and the Coaches Award in 2024 for her efforts and performance in volleyball. This July, she will represent her school as part of the OVAC All-Star Cheer Team.
In addition to her academic and extracurricular achievements, Gracie has been actively involved in community service. She has volunteered with Animal Charity, Angels for Animals, Cemetery Clean Up, and Summer Fun Day. She also works at the Valley Drive-In.
Gracie has also been recognized by her peers, having been selected for Prom Court, Winter Homecoming Court, and Fall Homecoming Court.
After graduation, Gracie plans to pursue a degree in Nursing at Kent State University.
