ROGERS — The historic Rogers Mount Zion United Methodist Church is hosting a benefit softball tournament to help raise funds for a new well which is needed to keep the church open.

The church needs to raise $20,000 to have a new well dug and purchase a new pump and holding tank.

The tournament will be single elimination and take place on April 26 beginning at 10 a.m. It will continue to April 27 beginning at 2 p.m., if needed.

It will be held at Thompson Park (Dixonville) Softball Field, 1180 Anderson Ave., East Liverpool.

Teams are to consist of five men and five women minimum with an entry fee of $25 per person.

The first-place team will win tickets to a Mahoning Valley Scrappers baseball game.
