Jimmie Ross and The Jaggerz return to ELHS for benefit concert
EAST LIVERPOOL — Jimmie Ross and The Jaggerz will be returning to East Liverpool High School, a location they played at 55 years ago, to perform a benefit concert.
That same year The Jaggerz scored a gold record when their song The Rapper reached the number one spot on the charts.
The band, which is now based in Pittsburgh and last played at the school in 1970, features the original singer/bassist Jimmie Ross, original guitarist Benny Faiella and guitarist Buddy Schneider, an East Liverpool High School alumnus from the class of 1980.
The concert is a benefit, with the proceeds being divided between the ELHS Band, choir and Thespians 319.
Megan Hernandez, communications, ELHS, said the band was doing the concert because they want to give something back and support talented artists at the school.
The show takes place at the ELHS Auditorium, 100 Maine Blvd., on April 5, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the ELHS Allstars at 7 p.m. Jimmie Ross and The Jaggerz will take the stage at 8 p.m.
General admission is $20 and tickets can be purchased online at www.onthestage.tickets, at Chef Ray’s Diamond Grill, or at the door.
