Online Carbon Academy workshop

OSU Extension Office will hold a zoom Carbon Academy Workshop designed by the Lal Carbon Center on April 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. This Carbon Academy event is a virtual, two-hour workshop for farmers. The workshop features several guest speakers, including Rattan Lal, Matthew Hamilton, Asmita Murumkar and Roger Williams. Additional speakers may be added. The mission of the Carbon Academy Workshop is to provide essential insights into soil carbon, carbon farming, on-farm carbon credit assessments, soil carbon measurement techniques (including remote sensing), and to explore broader topics such as policy, legal considerations, carbon as it relates to food security, societal carbon value, ecosystem services payments, and carbon market mechanisms. Attendees will receive a digital certificate of completion.

Lepper Library events upcoming

A Prom Prep Night will be held at Lepper Library on April 26 at 11 a.m. Attendees will be able to make a bouquet or boutonniere. A hair and nail demo will take place as well as a lesson on how to tie a tie. To reserve a spot, call the library at 330-424-3117.

On May 21, Lepper Library will host an Alzheimer’s Association “Supporting Independence” event at 4:30 p.m. Supporting Independence focuses on education and helping those living with dementia take part in daily activities, provides the right amount of support, balances safety and independence while managing expectations.
