CCCTC receives Auditor of State Award

LISBON — The Columbiana County Career and Technical Center has been awarded by the Auditor of State following a six-month-long routine audit.

The Auditor of State Office spent the last six months combing the accounts of the career center, with all accounts found to be in order.

Following the recent completion of the audit the career center was presented with The Auditor of State Award.

“This is an award that is presented to local governments and school districts that demonstrate excellence in financial accountability and transparency after a thorough financial audit, requiring a ‘clean’ audit report with no significant findings or concerns,” CCCTC Public Relations Co-Coordinator Elizabeth Wright said.

She added that six months is the typical timeframe for this particular audit.

The CCCTC Board of Education was briefed on the award during the March meeting.

Also during that meeting it was mentioned that Superintendent Jeremy Corbisello has been inviting new board members and partner school superintendents to the building for tours.

In other business during the meeting, the board approved administrative contracts for Ryan Hawk, buildings and grounds maintenance; Ryan Rotuna, director of technology, and Emily Deack, adult education nursing director.

The administrative contracts are renewals for existing employees.

The board also approved:

Kara Hyde, John Norman, and Jordan Reynolds as adult education part-time instructors.

Jason Owens and Katie Uslenghi as occasional seasonal employees in the buildings and grounds department, not to exceed 500 hours.

An $800 stipend to William Oesch for serving as Robotics Scorekeeper Referee.

The 2025-26 academic calendar.

An amendment to the program agreement with ACCESS.

The next meeting was set for 7 p.m. April 15.

Starting at $2.99/week.
