BWD trustees approve modifications to district fee schedule
WELLSVILLE — The Buckeye Water District Board of Trustees met Thursday and approved a resolution revising and adopting modifications to the district’s fee schedule with an all-in-favor vote.
The board also approved the Insurance Committee’s recommended change to the district’s insurance, which raises deductibles but lowers premiums.
District Manager Al DeAngelis said in his report to the board that the automatic valve at Irish Ridge has been replaced by Cattrell and they are waiting on micro comm for the scada upgrade for the valve.
DeAngelis also said that the district has been awarded a grant from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Division of Drinking and Ground Waters for system needs for the service line inventory and replacement planning requirements. DeAngelis noted that the grant will provide all the metrics of lead service lines in the system and replacement.
All the necessary paperwork for the state Route 39 10th Street extension and Hibbets Mills project has been submitted to the USDA (Department of Agriculture).
The district met with the Army Corps of Engineers to discuss the permit for the dredging of the Wellsville Marina. DeAngelis said “the consensus of both parties was to apply for an individual permit so that the permit would be viable for 10 years.”
The distribution crew repaired seven leaks and completed five taps.
There were no bid openings; committee reports, except for the Insurance Committee; public comments; project reports; old business or new business.
The operations, treasurer’s and district manager’s reports were accepted and approved as presented to the board.
The Buckeye Water District Board of Trustees meets the third Thursday of each month at 9 a.m. in council chambers at Wellsville Village Hall, 1200 Main St. The next regular meeting is scheduled for May 15.
