Liverpool Township trustees sign energy aggregation contract
LIVERPOOL TOWNSHIP — Liverpool Township Trustees approved the contract with Trebel Energy to give the aggregation company authorization to represent them in finding the lowest energy prices for the township during Tuesday’s meeting of the Liverpool Township Board of Trustees.
Following the vote Assistant Prosecutor Bret Hartup, who was making his first of two annual visits to the trustees meetings, advised the trustees when it comes to contract renewals, due dates or anything else they need to track to use Google Calendar or another similar app to track them and send reminders so they don’t miss or overlook one until it’s too late to cancel or renew. He noted it could be costly to break a contract if it wasn’t canceled in time and he was advising all the trustees and councils to do the same.
Road Supervisor Chris Bosworth told the trustees he wanted to thank Kenny Biacco, Yellow Creek Township Trustee. Bosworth said the road department had some problems on Oak Grove Road and didn’t get much response when he called the Yellow Creek Township Garage, so he called Biacco. Part of the road is in Yellow Creek Township but is being taken care of by Liverpool Township. After talking to Biacco, Yellow Creek Township is getting Liverpool Township some gravel since Liverpool Township put gravel down on that road.
Bosworth said Biacco, who he described as professional and nice to work with, would have the gravel delivered to Liverpool Township to replace what they put down.
Bosworth then requested and was granted authorization to purchase #57 stone at approximately $700 to put down on the township’s dirt roads which he said are getting pretty bad.
The trustees also gave Bosworth authorization to take the 2004 truck for the road department to be looked at to find out what the issues are with the vehicle and get an estimate on repairs that may be needed.
Trustee Keith Burke let residents know that helicopters are flying in the area trimming trees back from power lines.
Fiscal Officer Shirley Flati said she filed the year end notes with the state auditor and also uploaded the year end to the Ohio Checkbook for transparency and placed the required public notification in the Morning Journal, The Review and Salem News. She completed the January reconciliation and is working on the reconciliation for February.
Approval was given to pay bills totaling $53,620.48.
There were no reports from the police or fire chiefs and no one to speak during the public speaking portion.
Trustee Dennis Giambroni requested an executive session for personnel matters. Following the executive session, which included Bosworth and Hartup, the trustees trustees determined that road department employee Randy Bogart would be dismissed effective March 5 due to multiple write ups and not complying with work responsibilities.
The East Liverpool Board of Trustees meet every other Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Township Administratio Building. The next regular meeting is scheduled for March 18.
