Husband and wife dead in apparent murder-suicide

LIVERPOOL TOWNSHIP — Preliminary investigations conducted by the Columbiana County Prosecutor’s Office investigator and the Columbiana County Coroner’s Office indicate the cause of death for a male and female found dead in a Liverpool Township residence was a murder-suicide.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Parkwood Drive, after dispatch received a 911 hang-up call on Feb. 28 at approximately 12:37 a.m.

According to a statement provided by Police Chief Jared Kinemond, the female told dispatch that her husband was breaking items in the residence, and she wanted him removed.

Officers were advised when they arrived at the scene that a female caller said she was bedridden and didn’t know if the door was locked or unlocked.

Officers did not get a response when knocking at the residence. The door when checked was found to be unlocked.

Officers entered the residence to check and found both the male and female deceased from a gunshot.

No names are being released at this time until family members can be notified.
