NEW WATERFORD — The village has a full calendar of events for this year, including a new concert event planned for the second weekend of August.

Village Mayor Shane Patrone said the new concert event is being put on by New Waterford Friends.

Concert dates are tentatively scheduled for Aug. 8, 9, and 10.

The calendar of events was discussed during the most recent village council meeting and has since been published to the village’s Facebook page.

Patrone said that aside from the new concert weekend, the village is continuing the same events as last year.

These include the annual Easter Egg Hunt set for noon on April 19 and the Spring Clean Up to be held April 28. The clean up consists of larger items being picked up by CSI beginning at 6 a.m. Residents are asked to put their larger items at their curb for the CSI pickup.

Other tentatively scheduled events include the annual Community Yard Sale in June, the Fishing Derby in July, and the 4th of July Fireworks and band show on July 5 from 6-10 p.m.

The village will also once again have a Memorial Day service on May 26 at 11:45 a.m. at the local cemetery.

Events on the calendar for later in the year include a Beer, Wine and Music Festival Sept. 12-13, and the Christmas Parade Dec. 6 at 4 p.m.

A Christmas Eve service is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Dec. 24 at the park.

In other matters during the village council meeting, council approved a state purchasing contract with the Ohio Department of Transportation for the purchase of road salt.

Patrone said the village intends to purchase the same amount of salt as last year and that a price has not been set yet.
