LISBON — The Columbiana County Drug Task Force believes it removed $5,000 worth of drugs from the streets Friday afternoon, after executing a search warrant in Salem Township.
Jesse Smith, DTF director, said two people were arrested shortly after 1 p.m. on possession of drug paraphernalia charges.
Ashley Rhodes, of 38192 Old State Route 344, and Mathew Bays, no address provided, were both present in the home and were taken into custody without incident.
Smith said that it appeared that Bays had been staying with Rhodes for the past several weeks.
Investigators recovered 282 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, miscellaneous pills, paraphernalia (like scales and packaging) associated with suspected trafficking, and $376 in cash.
No initial court appearances or bond have been set as of Friday afternoon.
The residence and its occupants had been under investigation for several months, according to Smith.
He said additional felony charges may be pending based on the test results of confiscated drugs.
