EAST PALESTINE — The Town & Country Garden Club recently made a monetary donation to East Palestine Social Concerns. The funds will help Sandy Wales, Director of Social Concerns, meet the growing needs of people in our community.
Social Concerns operates totally on donations of non-perishable food items and money. Some of the things they do is provide a food box along with a gift card to Sparkle Market to needy families, provide help with utility bills, rent and have even helped with prescription drug costs. Each fall the organization provides school supplies to all EP School students. At Thanksgiving families can receive a food voucher for Sparkle Market. At Christmas, gifts are provided for children up to age 18 along with supplies for Christmas meals. All of this is made possible from the community’s donations.
Social Concerns has been a cornerstone of support for East Palestine for the past 55 years and intends to continue to serve the community for many more years. They operate out of the basement of the Centenary United Methodist Church, 40 N. Market St. (beside McDonalds). The telephone number is 330-426-2045 to speak directly to Sandy Wales.
