LISBON — The Stage Left Center for the Arts will present the Tony-nominated musical comedy “Pump Boys and Dinettes” at the historic Trinity Playhouse in Lisbon. The production runs weekends Feb. 21 through 23 and Feb. 28 through March 2, with evening performances at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. The Trinity Playhouse is located at 234 E. Lincoln Way and is handicapped accessible with free parking. Tickets may be purchased at stageleftplayers.org and the cost is $17 for adults and $15 for seniors and students.

Directed by Kandace Cleland, executive director of Stage Left Center for the Arts, “Pump Boys and Dinettes” features the talents of six veteran singers and musicians. According to Cleland, “the production is a toe-tapping, feel good musical comedy filled with country-western charm, humor and heart. The story unfolds with the ‘Pump Boys,’ a group of talented guys running a gas station, and ‘the Dinettes,’ Prudie and Rhetta Cupp, who run the Double Cup Diner next door. Together, they serve up a menu of high-octane music, heartwarming tales, and hilarious antics. Armed with guitars, piano, bass, drums and even kitchen utensils, this lively crew sings and dances their way through 20 musical numbers. They will have the audience singing along and smiling ear-to-ear as they navigate life, love, and friendship in this fast-paced musical comedy.”

Real life husband and wife and local musicians D.J Depanicus and Savannah Depanicus portray Jim and Rhetta. They are joined by Christine Martin as Prudie, who also serves as choreographer, and veteran actors Tyler Stoffer as LM and Jacob Ward as Jackson. Jodine Pilmer as Aunt Jodie, serves as musical director and keyboardist for the production’s four-piece combo.

“The Stage Left Production features live music and six incredible musicians, who sing, dance and invite the audience to ‘fill ‘er up’ with laughs,” promised Cleland.

Starting at $2.99/week.
