LISBON -- During Wednesday's meeting of the Columbiana County Board of Developmental Disabilities (CCBDD), board members voted on a number of membership renewals.
With all-in-favor votes, the board approved to renew memberships with the Ohio School Board Association at a fee of $690, the Disability Housing Network at a fee of $701 and the Ohio Self Determination Association at a fee of $750.
The board also approved the 2025-2026 school calendar, to sponsor the Northeast Ohio Branch of Arc of Ohio's Annual in-service at a fee of $300, and an individual option waiver for a client and a Level 1 Waiver for a client, both as approved by the ethics committee.
The annual in-service will be held in April and is a good source of information for advocates, Superintendent Bill Devon said.
Also approved was a facility wide upgrade for dedicated fiber internet as approved by the technology committee at a cost of $3,460.34 per month for 36 months and an installation charge of $4,397. It was noted state pricing was available. Devon said this would include a complete new phone system and get phones off the internet and on fiber. It was also noted that the last upgrade was in 2020, so this upgrade is overdue.
A unanimous vote gave approval to pay bills.
Announcements included the Abilities Rock Dance Party and Carnival at Waypoint 4180 in Canfield on March 8, with tickets available through Josh Martin at the board office; and DD Awareness Night with the Youngstown Phantom at the Covelli Center in Youngstown on March April 5.
Devon said the Abilities Art Show was held Feb. 9 at the Jewish Community Center in Youngstown, where two Columbiana clients had their masterpieces on display. He also said the work was impressive and he has several of their pieces on display in his office.
The Columbiana County Commissioners issued a proclamation Wednesday morning proclaiming March to be Developmental Disabilities Month in Columbiana County.

The CCBDD meets the third Wednesday of each month at 4 p.m. at its office located at 7675 state Route 45 in Lisbon. The next regular meeting is scheduled for March 19.
