Aultman College Preview Day

Aultman College will host a Preview Day – an open house style event for interested students – on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 10 a.m. The event includes tours of college facilities and classrooms, the opportunity to meet with students, faculty and staff and presentations about the various programs in nursing, radiography, medical assisting and the health sciences, as well as College Credit Plus for high school students. EL trash pick up delayed

Due to the frigid weather conditions the East Liverpool Garbage Department will be running behind schedule. Customers should leave their garbage can out as pick up could be up to two days behind schedule. Anyone with questions or concerns should call the Safety Service office at 330-386-6584.

EL CIC meets Jan. 28

The East Liverpool Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) will hold its annual Board of Trustees meeting on Jan. 28 at 5:15 p.m. in council chambers at East Liverpool City Hall, 126 W. Sixth St. Agenda items include nominations of board of trustees members, nomination of officers, selection of the CIC depository, CIC checking account balances as of Dec. 29, 2024, small business loans, Thompson Building update, completed ARPA Funded Facade improvement projects and any miscellaneous items.

Pollinator Palooza Festival

The Mahoning County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD), in collaboration with Operation Pollination, the Mahoning County Landbank, and OSU Extension Mahoning County, will hold the inaugural Pollinator Palooza Festival from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 10, at the Mahoning SWCD Office parking lot, located at 850 Industrial Road, Youngstown. The Pollinator Palooza Festival is an opportunity for the community to celebrate and support pollinators while learning about their essential role in the environment. The event will include native plant sales, artisan vendors, community partner exhibits, food trucks, and more. Attendees will also have the chance to connect with organizations dedicated to conservation and sustainability. The event is free and open to the public. To make the festival as environmentally friendly as possible, attendees are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles, as hydration stations will be available to support a zero-waste initiative. Local vendors interested in participating are invited to showcase their products and services, particularly those related to pollinators, native plants, or conservation.
