Wellsville BOE schedules budget hearing and organization meeting
WELLSVILLE — Wellsville Board of Education members during Monday’s meeting appointed board member Frank Williams to serve as president pro-tem for the board’s annual organization meeting to be held on Jan. 13
During the new business portion of the meeting, board members voted to approve the following monetary donations: for the Senior Class, Janelle Spann, $4,180; the High School Principal’s Fund, Richard Shilling, $3,000 and Garfield Principal’s Fund, Shelbie Householder, $480.
Board members also approved April 11 as the date for the Jr. Sr. Prom, May 29 at 8 p.m. as the date and time for graduation, the Jr. Sr. High Indoor Track Competition in January and the placement of a speech pathologist intern within the district from Jan. 13 through April 13.
The approval of the NEOLA Polices was placed on first reading.
During the finance portion of the meeting, board members approved the financial report including transfers and modification of funds and then and now certificates.
Also approved was the date for the budget hearing which will be held at 5 p.m. on Jan. 13, with the tax budget available for public inspection. The regular board meeting and organizational meeting will follow the budget hearing.
A bonus payment in the amount of $500 was approved for Marie Martin, Amber Brown, Rita Koopman, Paul Wright and Abigail Wright.
A five-year contract between BSN and the Wellsville Local School District, a memorandum of understanding between the Wellsville Board Education and the Wellsville Teacher’s Association for a contract addition for sick leave and a 12-month contract extension with AT&T were all approved.
For personnel, board members approved Nigel Spann, freshman boys’ basketball coach; Hailey Stump, scorekeeper for high school wrestling and Mark Hart, year 1 bus driver.
The Wellsville Board of Education meets the third Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Wellsville Jr. Sr. Media Center. The next regular meeting, which will include the annual reorganization meeting, is scheduled for Jan. 13.
