East Liverpool organizations plan a hometown Christmas
EAST LIVERPOOL — The East Liverpool Beautification has partnered with multiple local businesses to host an old-fashioned Christmas and the Kiwanis Club of East Liverpool will be hosting the annual Christmas parade followed by the tree lighting.
All events will take place in historic downtown Saturday.
The Hometown Christmas Festival kicks off at 10:30 a.m. in the Diamond with the Reindeer Run sponsored by the East Liverpool Beautification Society and coordinated by Lisa Zimmerman. The Reindeer Run will take participants on a 2-mile course around the heart of the historic downtown area. The first 25 runners will receive complimentary reindeer antlers.
The Old-Fashioned Christmas event begins at 1 p.m. and will feature gift vendors, food trucks, musical entertainment, a live nativity, kid friendly activities, caroling through the streets, Santa’s Christmas Castle bounce house in the Museum of Ceramics parking lot, kids games sponsored by the East Liverpool Rotary and Christmas open house tours all from 1 to 5 p.m.
Donation accepted carriage rides will take place from 1 to 3 p.m.
A Help Santa Find His Hat treasure hunt for children hosted by The Pear Tree Shop and the East Liverpool Rotary will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. at 433 Broadway St., which is also where the kids games will take place.
There will be special hours and treats from the brick-and-mortar eateries including Christmas Cheer themed cocktails.
The musical entertainment lineup will include Jim and Rochelle Herring; Jan Toot; Evon Patterson; Pastor Matt Llewellyn and Bill Crawford.
The Christmas Open House Tours will include the historical 1876 Thompson House at 305 Walnut St., the Sturgis House Victorian Bed and Breakfast at 122 West Fifth St., and the 1888 Robert House Inn B&B at 200 W. Sixth St.
Participating gift vendors include Angel Hedrick with Forever Fused Permanent Jewelry Mobile Boutique & Hat Bar; Aromafalls Candle Company; D’s Crafts and Cravings, handmade creations, Hat Foundry, East Liverpool Area Art League, artwork; Pink Hippo Design Company, jewelry; Pottery Pals; River Valley Chamber of Commerce, one-of-a-kind East Liverpool memorabilia; Scentsy Candles; Carriage Limousine Service, sleigh rides; Tina Spragg Seasonal Specialties; Toybox Innovations, 3D printing and custom laser works toys and Lisa Zimmerman Pottery, Zimm’s Potts.
Food trucks will include Patty Wagon; Stokes Wood Fired Pizza; Two Sweet Treats with D’s Crafts and Cravings cookie and cocoa bombs; East Liverpool Youth Academy, hot chocolate bar; and East Liverpool Rotary, popcorn bar.
The annual Christmas Parade sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of East Liverpool will kick off at 6 p.m.
This year’s Christmas Parade grand marshal will be East Liverpool resident Gini Jackson who raised the money for the new Christmas tree and star in the Diamond which will be lit immediately following the parade.
