St. Jude’s stuffed pepper dinner

St. Jude’s Women’s Guild, 180 Seventh St., Columbiana, will sponsor a drive thru stuffed pepper dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. or until sold out today. Cost is $12 per dinner.

Wellsville Christmas Dec. 14

Moving Wellsville Forward will present Christmas in the Village Wellsville from noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 14 inside the Wellsville Alumni Center, 201 Third St. Santa will be there, with over 20 vendors, hot foods by the alumni committee, a coloring contest, and craft ornament-making for kids. There will also be a live concert by Bill Crawford from noon to 2 p.m., DJ Greg Pullie from 2 to 4 p.m., and trivia throughout the day (get the right answer to win a gift card), as well as a Chance Auction and 50/50 drawing. Eyes on Wellsville will have a collection box for their toy drive. On Main Street from noon to 4 p.m., Slack’s Antique Mall is hosting an outdoor market with vendors, food trucks, and a basket auction. The day concludes with the Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade at 6 p.m. Follow Christmas in the Village Wellsville on Facebook for updates.

Young at Heart Dec. 12

Young at Heart will meet on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 12:30 p.m. at Long’s Run Trinity Presbyterian Church, 15851 Long’s Run Church Road, Calcutta. This will be the last meeting until March or April 2025. For this meeting only, preregistration is necessary. For information call 330-385-1127.

Banquet in Salem Monday

Fresh Mark will sponsor the Dine In or Drive Thru Banquet in Salem from 5 p.m. until the food is gone Monday at the Salem Memorial Building. The menu will include ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, applesauce, fresh vegetables and fruit, and cookies. Dine in will park behind the building and proceed to front door. Drive thru line up in lot behind the building; one meal per individual in the vehicle. No parking in the library lot. Christmas Sing-a-Long Sunday

Salem Preservation showcases the Historic Episcopal Church of Our Savior, 870 E. State St., with a Free Community Christmas Sing-a-Long at 3 p.m. Sunday, featuring Wirsching organ accompianist Vince Anderson, Tiffany-stained glass windows and light refreshments. ‘Breakfast With Santa’ Saturday

The Wellsville Alumni Activities Committee will be hosting “Breakfast With Santa” from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Wellsville Alumni Center, 201 Third St. The cost is $5 per person and includes pancakes, sausage, milk, juice, and coffee. Photos will be taken on personal devices.

United Local Band Concert

United Local Band Holiday Concert Series will take place on Sunday, Dec. 8th and Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the high school. All concert bands grade 5-12 will perform on Dec. 8. The 5th Grade and High School concert bands are performing at 2:30 p.m. The 6th Grade and Junior High bands are performing at 4 p.m. Both concerts are free to the public in the high school auditorium. The United Jazz Band and Flight Show Choir will be hosting Carols and Cocoa on Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Carols and Cocoa cost $5 for adults and students.

Spoken Threads storytelling

Spoken Threads will host an open mic storytelling at 2 p.m. Sunday at The Way Station, 769 Springfield Road in Columbiana. The theme is Wonder. Live music by Salem’s Curtis Conser. The Way Station Thrift Store will be open following the gathering. More information at columbianahub.org. Spoken Threads storytelling is a program of THE HUB, an outreach of First Presbyterian Church, Columbiana and committed to building community around story. Spoken Threads welcomes all stories including those challenging traditional systems and structures. Stories must be personal, should be told in the first person and be under 8 minutes long. Spoken Threads welcomes all storytellers regardless of religious tradition, race, class, gender, ethnicity, political leaning or sexual orientation. Audience members are requested to commit to the discipline of respectful listening.

Mile Branch Grange soup sale

Mile Branch Grange, 495 Knox School Road, Alliance, will hold its monthly drive-thru soup sale on Thursday, Dec. 12. Cost is $9 per quart. This month’s soups will be Chicken Noodle and Chili. Soup must be preordered by noon on Wednesday, Dec. 11. Soup will be available for pick up from 4 to 6 p.m. It will be packaged and delivered directly to cars ready to heat at home. Glamorgan Castle trip Dec. 12

Senior Citizens of Columbiana has organized a trip to Glamorgan Castle in Alliance. The 12-passenger transport van will leave Columbiana around 1 p.m. on Dec. 12 from the 40 & 8 Veterans Lodge and return around 3:30 p.m. The total round trip, including admission to the castle, is $25 per person. Community breakfast Dec. 21

Damascus Methodist Church and Middle Sandy Presbyterian Church will host their monthly community breakfast from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21 at the Damascus church, 300 Valley Road. The breakfast features all-you-can-eat, made-to-order pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, juice and coffee for a donation. The breakfast proceeds will benefit the 2025 Summer Mission Trip. Patrons are reminded that Damascus Methodist will be renovating the kitchen and this will cause a temporary postponement of the monthly breakfast during January and February.
