Charges continue to mount against two men accused in Columbiana robbery

CANFIELD — Charges continue to mount against two Pennsylvania men accused of robbing a Columbiana phone story Friday afternoon.

Trey Bell, of New Kensington, and Kenneth Littlejohn, of Ambridge were arrested Friday night at a North Lima motel after electronic devices pinged within the hour of the heist.

According to Beaver Township police Lt. Kevin O’Kernick, township officers overheard Columbiana police seeking the services of a K-9 unit shortly after the robbery, after Bell and Littlejohn allegedly entered the AT&T store in Oakmont Plaza, brandished a handgun and fled with a number of electronic devices like phones, Fitbits and watches.

One of the men, clad in a camouflage mask, had fled on foot into a wooded area which neighbors New Buffalo Road within Beaver Township.

Oakmont Plaza is located within the City of Columbiana, which has a portion within Mahoning County.

Within the hour, officers had traced the electronics to Davis Motel, which is located on Market Street near the Ohio Turnpike.

Columbiana, Beaver and Boardman township and Ohio State Highway Patrol officers responded to the motel, where they took both men into custody at gunpoint.

The bulk of the charges are filed against Bell, who faces aggravated robbery, kidnapping, possession of criminal tools and receiving stolen property, which are all felonies, as well as a misdemeanor obstructing official business count. He currently is being held with no bond set at Mahoning County Jail.

Littlejohn also was arrested on a felony possessing criminal tools and receiving stolen property charges with his bond being set at $4,000 cash or surety. He also is currently incarcerated at Mahoning County Jail.

As of Sunday, no court dates have been set for either man, which is expected to be through Mahoning County Court No. 3 in Canfield due to the location.

Bell also is currently wanted in conjunction with the robbery at a Pittsburgh area T-Mobile store Thursday as well as has several open warrants for theft, forgery and other charges in Pennsylvania, according to an appeal for information published by a Pittsburgh paper from the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office.

Columbiana police did not respond to requests for comment as of Sunday morning.
