LISBON — Columbiana County residents are reminded that the 2025 Columbiana County dog licenses are officially on sale. One-year license is $12, three-year license is $36 and permanent is $120. Licenses must be purchased by Jan. 31 to avoid a $12 penalty. For those who previously mailed in their applications, their 2025 dog licenses were mailed out on or about Dec. 2. Allow extra time for post office delivery during the holidays. Keep in mind that if purchasing multi-year licenses for any dogs and they have the year 2025 on the license or later, they will not be listed on the applications and do not need renewed.

The preferred method of purchasing 2025 dog licenses is by mail or online at https://www.doglicenses.us/OH/Columbiana. Make sure to be on the correct website when purchasing the dog licenses. It should clearly state it is the Columbiana County Auditor’s website with pictures of Auditor Nancy Milliken on the homepage. Fraudulent sites have been reported.

Owners will be able to buy their licenses in person at the auditor’s office, the Dog Pound or at one of the satellite providers. Permanent and three-year licenses can be bought online, by mail or at the auditor’s office only. Satellite providers are Salem BMV on Second Street in Salem, Columbiana County Humane Society in Salem, Hanoverton Hardware in Hanoverton, Discount Drug Mart in Lisbon and Alleycat Spay & Neuter in Calcutta. Check the auditor’s website for available hours for these satellite locations; or by calling the auditor’s office. These satellite providers only sell licenses now through Jan. 31. They can accept cash, check or money orders only. Make checks payable to the Columbiana County Auditor. Payment at satellite locations will be $12.75 per license.

Those who received a pre-printed application in the mail should mail the bottom of the application with their payment or bring if coming in person. Without a completed application, identification showing name and current address will be required in order to buy dog licenses. The auditor’s office and the dog pound will be accepting Visa, MasterCard, Discover and debit cards, in addition to cash, checks and money orders. If paying with cash, bring exact amount.
