NEW WATERFORD — Four outstanding Crestview High School seniors have been awarded the prestigious Governor’s Merit Scholarship (GMS) for their exceptional academic achievements. Asher Moore, Lydia Campbell, Abigail Boyarko and Sarah Baer have each demonstrated their dedication to excellence by being ranked in the top 5% of their class, earning them a renewable scholarship of up to $5,000 over four years.

The Governor’s Merit Scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to high school seniors who excel in their studies. This scholarship is a renewable award, offering support for up to four years of full-time instruction. Recipients do not have to repay the scholarship, allowing them to focus on their education without the burden of student loans.

“The Governor’s Merit Scholarship empowers our brightest students to pursue their higher education goals without financial stress,” said Caleb Crowl, high school principal. “We are incredibly proud of Asher, Lydia, Abigail, and Sarah for their hard work and dedication. This scholarship will help them cover not just tuition and fees, but also other educational expenses such as books, equipment, room and board, and transportation, up to their college or university’s published Cost of Attendance.”
