SRMC blood screening event Nov. 16
SALEM – On Saturday, Nov. 16, area residents are invited to learn more about their health by participating in a comprehensive blood screening provided by Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC) and SRMC Primary Care-Columbiana. The screening event will take place at SRMC Primary Care in Columbiana, located at 400 Town Center Ave. in the SRMC Surgery and Outpatient Pavilion at Firestone Farms.
Comprehensive blood screenings can help to identify many health problems in their early stages, when they are most treatable, and may detect conditions such as high cholesterol, anemia, infections, diabetes and other disorders. Some of the tests included are cholesterol, lipids and triglycerides, red and white blood cells, platelets, electrolytes, enzymes, blood sugar, BUN and creatinine, bilirubin and thyroid function.
Cost of the comprehensive screening is $45. Optional tests available for an additional charge include a prostate specific antigen test for $12 and HgA1c diabetes screen for $28. A lipid panel, which measures cholesterol levels and is included in the comprehensive screening, is available as a stand-alone test for $12.
Screenings begin at 7 a.m. and an appointment is required. To schedule an appointment or for more information, call 330-482-3871.
