Sebring McKinley cafeteria makeover provides students with comfort, style, school-spirit
SEBRING — After decades of the same standard chairs and tables, Sebring McKinley decided it was time for an upgrade in their cafeteria.
The new space is laid out with high-tops, booths, circle and rectangular tables, all branded in Sebring Trojans purple and gold.
“With a bistro vibe, this cafeteria redesign offers a whole new feel,” said Brian Clark, principal at McKinley. “It’s much more inviting and not only makes our students feel more welcome, but it also gives them a space to take pride in.”
Seventh-grader Brielle Thompson said she loves it because it feels more comfortable. One of her classmates, Jordan Augustein shared similar sentiments, saying it feels like a restaurant.
“I like how everyone has found a perfect spot that fits them,” said Alanis Giron, seventh-grader.
“It’s more aesthetically pleasing,” added seniors Allison Hoschar and Myla Thomas.
Many of the students shared positive feelings about the use of purple and gold, taking pride in their school spirit and making it feel welcoming.
“We’re thankful for our superintendent, Toni Viscounte, and our school board for making this possible,” added Clark.
