EP PTO hurricane relief collection

The East Palestine Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) held a Hurricane Disaster Relief Donation Drive from Oct. 10 to 18 throughout the entire school district. Well over 1,200 items were collected in all, which will be delivered in the coming weeks to areas of need in North Carolina. To add a little healthy competition, a challenge was put out to see which grade level could bring in the most items, with the winning grade being the Preschool.

4th Thursday Banquet in Salem

The Dine In or Drive Thru 4th Thursday Banquet in Salem will be held from 5 p.m. until the food is gone Thursday at the Salem Memorial Building. The menu will include penne pasta and meatballs, green beans, salad, fresh vegetables and fruit, and cookies. Dine in park in designated area behind the building and proceed to front door. Drive thru line up in the lot behind the building; one meal per individuals in the vehicle. No parking in library lot. Church Trunk or Treat

Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church, state Route 45, Wellsville, will host a Trunk or Treat from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.

First Baptist Deaconess Day

First Baptist in Wellsville will celebrate their Deaconess Annual Day on Sunday at 3 pm. The guest speaker is Minister Katrina King who reides in Toronto. Worship music will be provided by the FBC Youth choir and Linda McCuen from Mt. Calvary Chapel located in Midland. The public is invited to attend.

Free veterans dinner

Almost Home Event Center, 230 S. 12th St., Sebring, will host a free dinner for veterans and a guest at 6 p.m. Nov. 8. Those wishing to attend are asked to email tonyadean@embarqmail.com by Nov. 5. Additional sponsors include Goshen Ruritans and the Steiger family.

Christmas Craft Show

The Salem Slovak Club, 313 S. Ellsworth Ave., will host a Christmas Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 23, open to the public. For information call 330-337-8426.

Minerva Christmas parade, lights

Registration is open now for the Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce’s Christmas parade and “Like Your Lights! Drive-it-Yourself Christmas Lights Tour.” Businesses, organizations, and private individuals are invited to be part of the Christmas parade with floats, decorated cars, trucks, or golf carts, or as walkers, on Saturday, Dec. 7, 3 p.m. There is no charge to participate. Any residents or businesses in the Minerva Local School District interested in sharing their outdoor Christmas decorations with the community, beginning Saturday, Dec. 7, should provide their address to the chamber office by Friday, Nov. 22. The Chamber will compile a map of participating locations to be published Friday, Dec. 6. Tops 1957

Tops 1957 from Wellsville met on Oct. 15 at the Living Well Church with leader Mary Jarvis opening the meeting with roll call, pledges and then Mary Schmidt leading the group in prayer.

Tops best loser was Linda Seevers, and Gladys Buzzard wore the officers ribbon.

Schmidt won the calorie chart drawing.

Joyce Monte won the 50/50 drawing.

The Nono for the week was bread.

Winners of the leaf contest were Seevers 1st place, Barb Tranter was second place and Connie Hissam was third place.

Jarvis closed the meeting wishing all a good week.
