Road closure

Seigler Road between Oak Grove and Roses Run roads in Washington Township will be closed Aug. 15 through 17 for a culvert replacement. Local traffic only.

GriefShare

Lake Mount Church of Christ, 6290 state Route 7, New Waterford, is hosting a 13-week session of GriefShare from 6 to 7:30 p.m. every Sunday evening beginning Aug. 21. GriefShare is a special weekly seminar and support group designed to help individuals rebuild their life after losing a loved one. This group is led by caring people who have experienced grief and want to help others through their difficult days ahead. Cost of the program is $5 to cover workbook and materials. United schedules

United Local School will be passing out student schedules for grades six through 12 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in the high school office.

Leetonia Reunion

Leetonia High School All ’70s Class Reunion is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at Timberlanes Complex. Cost is $55 for single $55 or $100 for couples. Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show

Allen Lodge presents the 2022 Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show Aug. 21 from 2 to 6 p.m. at 722 Meadow Lane, Columbiana. The event will feature music, food, 50/50 raffle, basket auction and door prizes. Trophies will be awarded to the Top 3 with dash plaques for the first 50 entrants. End of season programs

The Salem Public Library and Salem Memorial Building are “shell”-abrating the end of a season of programs, storytellers, books, prizes and events with the annual palooza from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the library’s children’s room. This year’s theme is Palooza: Perilous Pirates and Mystical Merfolk! The free event is open house style and no registration is required. There will be a plank walk challenge, rubber duck race, the chance to meet a pirate and take a photo with a mermaid. There will also be a soap foam pit, games, a craft and snacks. Special guests will be available for a meet-n-greet and photos from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

ODOT news

The following construction project is anticipated to affect highways in Columbiana County in the coming weeks. All outlined work is weather permitting.

State Route 170 resurfacing: Work is set to begin Monday to resurface nearly 4 miles of state Route 170 from East Palestine to Negley. During this work, traffic will be maintained via flaggers. The completion date is Sept. 30.

The following projects are ongoing in Columbiana County:

U.S. Route 30 resurfacing: Work is underway to resurface 9 miles of U.S. Route 30 from Minerva to Hanoverton. During this work traffic is maintained via temporary traffic signals. The completion date is Sept. 30.

State Route 11 resurfacing: Work is underway to resurface nearly 7 miles of state Route 11 from state Route 154 to state Route 344. During this work, one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction. The completion date is Oct. 31.
