Columbiana Class of 1961
Classmates of the Columbiana High School class of 1961 will not be meeting Saturday, but will be gathering July 16 in Columbiana for a reunion celebration.
Banquet in Salem
Drive thru or dine in Banquet in Salem will be held from 5 p.m. until the food is gone, no later than 7 p.m., at the Salem Memorial Building. Dine in will park in the designated area and enter through the front door of the Memorial Building. Drive thru will line up on the lot behind the Memorial Building. One meal per person in the vehicle. Sponsor: a Memorial for Bob and Jeanne Zeck by their children. The menu will include pork chops, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, applesauce, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit and dessert. Do not park in the library lot. The members of St. Thomas Episcopal Church on Three Spring Drive in Weirton, W.V. are planning their 59th Annual Peach Festival to be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There are still openings for crafters and vendors. Adults are invited to attend and participate in the gentle motion “Chair Yoga” class to be led by Barb Kliner July 13 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. The class, which is free of cost, will be held in the Salem Public Library’s Quaker Meeting Room located on the library’s lower level. Attendees should wear comfortable clothing that will not hamper the gentle yoga movements. Registration is required and may be done online at www.salem.lib.oh.us or give the library a call at 330-332-0042 to receive registration assistance. Kliner is a personal fitness trainer and teaches several types of adult exercise programs generally in the East Palestine area.
There will be a quilt display and an ice cream social from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday as part of the Village Comes Alive in Pioneer Village. Old and new quilts will be on display in the barn along with a quilting demonstration. The ice cream social will be at the trading post. Pioneer Village is located within Beaver Creek State Park, 12021 Echo Dell Road., East Liverpool.
