‘Day of Memory’

“A Day of Memory” will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 28 at the United High School Memorial Garden. The ceremony held outside the auditorium at the Memorial Garden. It is open to the public, including friends and family of United students who were lost before they were able to graduate. This year’s speaker is Tom Coffee of Salem. The program concludes with the planting of flowers in memory of those students who passed away before having the opportunity to graduate. In the event of rain, there will be no program, but flowers will be available for individuals to stop by and plant. For information, call Dr. Bill Young, principal, at 330-223-7102.

Lisbon American Legion

Lisbon American Legion Post #275 will hold a day of decorations at Lisbon Cemetery at 6 p.m. this Monday, May 23 in preparation for Memorial Day. All community members are welcome. Then, on Memorial Day, they will have a parade through downtown Lisbon for veterans at 9 a.m. Judge Scott Washam will be speaking after the parade and David Anderson High School senior Robert Harris will present the Gettysburg Address. A wreath will be placed in Lisbon Square to commemorate the holiday.

First Church of the Nazarene

Nazarene Missionary Brian Helstrom will be a special guest speaker at The First Church of the Nazarene, 670 Walnut Street, East Liverpool, Sunday at 10:45a.m.

Health & Safety Fair

The Mahoning County Career and Technical Center (MCCTC) Adult Career Center will host its inaugural Health and Safety Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 1 at its facility on North Palmyra Road in Canfield. The event will feature over 50 health, safety and wellness community partners, a “Wellness Walk” tour of the walking trail, EMS and fire demos, MCCTC Fire Training Center tours plus basket raffles and giveaways. Tire collection

WELLSVILLE — The board of Yellow Creek Township trustees will conduct a spring scrap tire collection on May 28 from 9 a.m. until noon at the township hall on Oak Ridge Rd., Yellow Creek Twp. residents only. Car & light truck tires only. Tires with dirt, debris or water will not be accepted.
