YOUNGSTOWN – The Anthony V. Spano Foundation had the opportunity to deliver thousands of school supplies to 15 school districts. Because of the anonymous donation received earlier this year, in the amount of $27,000, the Anthony V. Spano Foundation with the help of Diagnostics Direct Inc. was able to deliver 15 pallets of much-needed schools supplies to the following local school districts: Minerva Local, Lisbon Exempted Village School, East Liverpool, East Palestine, United, Heartland Christian and Wellsville.

“This funding was a wonderful gift because not only did it serve our students, there were items for the teachers. There were so many supplies, for K-12, that the students and teachers appreciated,” stated Melissa Kemats, School Counselor for Lisbon Exempted Village Schools.

Kim Davis, Intervention Specialist at Minerva High School, said, “we received school supplies to help those in grades 9-12 who couldn’t afford to purchase supplies.”

The Fund was established by the Spano Foundation of Youngstown, in 2016 to help primary and secondary school teachers, students and communities to help purchase much-needed classroom supplies for their underprivileged students.
