Personnel dominates Beaver BOE agenda
EAST LIVERPOOL — Beaver Local school board members spent a great deal of its Monday regular meeting dealing with personnel decisions.
In addition to hiring Rachel Martin as a cook and Trudi Kirkbride as a custodian, members also added members to its substitute roster, including Bob Rose, Leslie Aldrich, Ashley Jackson and Melissa Talbott as custodians; Renee Ebert as a bus driver; Maggie Shemasek and Aaron Bombich as teachers; Talbott and Jackson also as secretaries; and also Jackson as a cook and paraprofessional.
Approved PTO volunteers were Allisyn Yeager, Larry Diddle, Krista Roberts, Tracy Barber, Michael Barber, Kiley Dray, Elizabeth Bean, Kasie Stevenson, Abigayle Buchheit, Sandra Edmundson, Patrick Clutter, Alyson Vujaklya and Courtney Luketic.
Superintendent Lowe also had the following supplemental contracts approved: Bill Grischow, eighth-grade adviser; Danielle Meek, middle school language arts department head; Matt Newman, spelling bee adviser; Sarah Lowe, middle school math department head; Lisa Staley, fifth-grade adviser; Jason Congo, middle school social studies department head; Beth Barber, Academic Challenge adviser; Jennifer Awana, co-Student Council; Kelly McKenzie, middle school science department head; Vicki Barnett, sixth-grade adviser; as well as Anne Eisenhart, co-Student Council and middle school Interact Club.
In other action, the board approved memorandums of understanding between the district and the Beaver Local Education Association regarding state mandated changes to the evaluation process effective this year as well as another with the Columbiana County Board of Development Disabilities, Family and Children First Council, Community Action Agency’s Head Start and Early Head Start program, renewing agreements regarding working relationships between the agencies and the district.
